Chapter 448
The bag Tessa was carrying that day was a global limited-edition piece from the very brand she was heading to. It was an exclusive design available only to Black Diamond members. Naturally, it would never appear on the official website.
Most people would never even get the chance to see it in person.
The woman's gaze remained sharp and mocking as she sneered. "Stop pretending to be all high and mighty. My boyfriend is offering you three thousand dollars. Be smart and hand over the dress."
Tessa let out a cold laugh. "I already told you. I'm not giving it up."
She turned to the sales associate. "Please go ahead and wrap it up."
"Yes, miss." The associate quickly removed the dress from the mannequin and began packing it carefully.
The couple's expressions darkened immediately.
Tessa paid for the dress with her card while the woman continued throwing insults from the side.
"Seriously, knockoff queen, that dress is not cheap. It's over 50 thousand dollars for one piece. You should have just let me have it and gone online to buy yourself a fake version. That would match your fake bag perfectly."
The man had genuinely found Tessa attractive at first. Her looks and confidence had caught his eye.
But after being so thoroughly ignored and embarrassed in front of his girlfriend and the store staff, his bruised ego could no longer handle the rejection.
Once he heard his girlfriend insist that Tessa's bag was fake, his tone turned just as nasty.
He sneered. "Look at you. Can't afford the real thing, so you carry a knockoff and fight us over a dress? Some nerve you have."
"Exactly," the woman added, full of disdain.
"You could walk out of here with that dress, but everyone would still assume it's fake, just like your bag. Do you honestly think splurging on one expensive piece will make people respect you? They will only laugh behind your back for being so desperate."
Their words were vicious. Even the sales associate struggled to stay neutral. But these were still potential customers, dressed in high-end brands from head to toe. If only they could smile politely and browse the other options instead of picking a fight.
Just then, Tessa's phone buzzed. It was a message from Sienna.
"Tessa, I'm at the boutique. Weren't you coming to pick up your bag? Where are you?"
Tessa quickly typed her reply. "I'm buying a dress. I will be there in a minute." "Okay, I'll wait for you in the lounge."
With Sienna already at the boutique, Tessa had no interest in wasting another second on the awful couple. She took the bagged dress from the associate and headed toward the exit without sparing them another glance.
The man, fuming with rage, stormed after her.
His name was Bruno Tatum. The Tatum family ranked among the prominent families in Sudmere. Within his social circle, he was used to people flattering him and going out of their way to please him. Being treated like he was invisible drove him mad. noveldrama
Watching Tessa walk away so calmly only fueled his rage further. He stormed after her.
"Stop acting so high and mighty. Just tell me. How much for a night with you?" he snapped.
Tessa came to an abrupt stop. In the very next moment, she turned and slapped him hard across the face.
Then, a sharp sound echoed through the store. A red mark immediately appeared
on Bruno's cheek, and blood welled up at the corner of his mouth.
He stood there, stunned. He had not expected her to fight back.
"Watch your mouth," Tessa said coldly. Her gaze was icy, each word slicing through the air with precision.
Cassidy Latham, the woman beside him, had followed closely behind. When she saw Bruno get slapped, she froze and stood there in shock.
Bruno snapped out of his daze, his face twisting with humiliation and fury. He cursed loudly and lunged toward Tessa, raising his fist ready

But before his hand could get close, his wrist was caught firmly by Wynn, who had arrived at just the right moment.
Wynn's expression was calm but deadly. "You must really be looking for trouble."
With one swift twist to his wrist, there was a sickening crack. Bruno let out a scream of pain as his face turned deathly pale.
Wynn did not stop there. She raised her leg and landed a solid kick at his chest, sending him staggering backward.
What do you think?
