His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode

Chapter 1036

Because they managed to save her in time, Evadne's stomach hemorrhage

wasn't as serious as they'd feared. By evening, she'd been moved to a regular hospital room to rest.

Cassius stayed by her side, refusing to leave his little sister for even a minute. Even Aaron-usually a workaholic-had called in and taken the night off to be with her.

When Arnold Ashbourne and Camille Evert heard the news and wanted to visit, Cassius gently but firmly turned them away.

He knew Evadne was shattered, drained-completely spent. If they came, she'd only force herself to put on a brave face for them, pretending to be okay.

She was exhausted. Maybe being stuck in the hospital was actually a blessing in disguise—a chance to rest. At least she couldn't throw herself back into the fire right now.

"Aaron..." Evadne's voice was weak as she leaned against the headboard, blinking her swollen, red eyes. "Now... can you finally tell me?"

Aaron's eyes went glassy. His words were thick with emotion. "Evadne, you never listen, do you?"

"I never have," she replied, a faint, wry smile tugging at her lips. Even now, even pale and tired, her smile was beautiful-if only because it was so fragile. "Otherwise... how could Thaddeus and I have ended up like this?"

She paused, swallowing hard. "Big brother, Aaron... don't blame him, okay? Thaddeus didn't do anything wrong. It was me I'm the one who lost him. It's my fault..."

Her voice cracked, tears brimming over again.

"My Evadne didn't do anything wrong either. Neither of you did."

Cassius wrapped his big, calloused hand around her trembling fist. His chest ached. His heart felt like it was being squeezed. "But, Evadne, you have to promise me something: look forward. Please. Thaddeus isn't the only thing in your life. Love isn't everything. You have a father, and brothers, and sisters. If you fall apart, what are we supposed to do? Mom-wherever she is—she wouldn't want this for you. You know I'm right, don't you?"noveldrama

Mom...

For the first time in days, a spark flickered in Evadne's eyes.

She remembered how her own mother-back in the day-had been trapped, hunted, forced to flee from one place to another, never safe for a minute. Yet she'd survived. She'd found her way to a new country, started over, met Evadne's father, fallen in love...and eventually, Evadne was born.

If her mom could survive all that-the kind of pain and fear most people could never imagine-and

keep fighting, what right did she met

have to give up now? What right did she have to be less than hero mother's daughter?

She was Evadne, not Ophelia, not Juliet. She wasn't going to give up on life just because her heart was broken.

Especially since Thaddeus was still out there somewhere.

Hadn't she always said it? That as long as he was alive, that was enough?

"Cassius... I get it. I do. I just need a little more time, okay? I'll be alright. I will. Just give me a little time..." Her lips were cracked and dry, but she kept repeating it, like a mantra, over and over.

Each time she said it, Cassius's heart broke all over again.

Suddenly, Aaron cut through the heaviness in the room with a change of topic. "I looked into it. Out of everyone Avery saw before he died, there's one person that really stands out to me."

Evadne shot upright, her voice suddenly sharp. "Who?"

"Chad's personal doctor-Alexia."

Cassius's brow furrowed, Evadne's eyes narrowed, and the siblings spoke in unison:

"Her?!"

Aaron nodded gravely. "Two days before Avery died, Alexia volunteered at the county jail, running free checkups for the inmates. Not long after that, Avery died of sudden cardiac arrest. There's no direct proof she did anything, but if anyone had the chance, it was her. And let's be real-her showing up at the jail out of nowhere is just... weird, right?"

Evadne leaned back against the pillows, her thick lashes casting shadows over

her cheeks.
