Healing The 65
Healing The 65
Sihana’s POV
“I’ll see you at home,” he said, giving me the sweetest smile I’d ever seen. His lips were red and swollen with his eyes hooded. The expression on his face coupled with his dishevelled hair had to be the most erotic look ever.
“O – Okay.” I turned with my head in the clouds and walked out of the office like a robot unable to resist the command.
Walking out of the office, one or two people greeted me and I responded from somewhere far in my consciousness. I went down the elevator with the same lazed expression on my face and a blankness in my head.
It wasn’t until I got to the lobby that I realized I’d been scammed
Cahir Armani-
I laughed when I realized just what happened. He kissed me so well, so thoroughly that I forgot my
mission.
You won this round but you don’t know how persistent I am,” I muttered to myself.
It could be called my greatest weakness – I didn’t know when to stop. It was the reason why, despite how cruel Silver Moon treated me, I still persisted for years in my quest to win their love and affection.
“I hope it works out this time.”
“Who are you talking to?” My head snapped to the side when I heard that familiar voice.
“Aristo!” Without thinking, I launched myself into his arms. It wasn’t that I missed him, but I’d worried myself thinking of how my foolish moves may have cost him a position he worked hard to get.
“Ah
Should we be doing this?” I felt him stiffen from my touch and his words were strained, the humour in them obviously forced. Guilt ate at me.
My arms dropped from around him as I smiled. A weird expression flickered so fast across his face that I could not catch it.
“Welcome back,” I said, almost twiddling my thumbs. His mood and expression were unfamiliar.
Aristo was that boy the one who always smiled, laughed and cracked silly jokes. The one who no one thought could ever hold a serious conversation for once in his life. The expression on his face then was so far divorced from what I was used to that it made me panic.
Did he hate me now that I’d almost ruined his life because of one silly favour?
Thank you.” His voice was quiet and his face unsmiling. I shuffled on my feet.
“You’re back faster than I expected,” I commented.
It was less than two hours since I called him and asked him to return to his position as Beta. He’d agreed without argument and I didn’t feel any bad blood in our conversation but the way he acted now made me
Tue, Nov 5
“That’s because ver went far. I planned to hide my ice from Cahir for a while – until he got over his petty anger. It’s not like he banished me from the pack or something.” he said with a shrug of his shoulders.
“Oh–uh-“He’d always been easy to talk to. What was this strange mood!? “About what happened – I am sorry for getting you involved in my business and causing you such trouble.” Was that good enough as ant apology? I hoped he could feel my sincerity.
“Secing him so panicked was worth it.” A ghost of his normal self appeared as he grinned mischievously but the smile fell from his lips in a second. “I did something silly so I deserved to be punished. Enough about me. How are you?” His eyes slid down my body as if looking for something but he didn’t find it. He raised his head back to me and his expression was even weirder.
“Oh – You heard what happened at the hotel?” I asked, thinking he was searching for a scar on me.
“Which of the things?” He gave a smile that was neither friendly nor humorous.
“I guess you didn’t hear then.” 1 rubbed my arm as a strange sensation crawled up my skin. “Some people tried to kidnap me.” His eyes widened to twice their usual sizes.
“Oh shit!” He exclaimed, then gripped my shoulder, turning me from side to side. “Are you okay? I never heard about that. Who were they? Did you find out anything? How did you escape?” He turned me around so many times that I got dizzy.
“I’m fine.” I managed to breathe out, pushing his hands from my shoulders as he tried to spin me around again. “Çahir took care of them.”
Those bastards! Did he find out who they were?” He demanded
It was weird for a Beta to be asking about his Alpha’s movements considering the Beta was in charge of executing the Alpha’s orders. If Cahir wanted to look for my attackers, he would have instructed Aristo to take up the matter. Maybe that was why Aristo was acting strange. He’d gotten out of the loop with his Alpha because of me.
“Well, he hasn’t said anything to me but you’re his Beta so you can ask him,” I advised. “But I think he plans on dragging Silver Moon into it.”
What about Silver Moon? There is no past for me. Those words had me shivering.
“He told you that?” His eyes narrowed. I blinked at him.
“Not really?” Why did he seem surprised?
“Oh, don’t mind me. I thought he finally learnt how to communicate properly with his mate.” This time he laughed and it was a genuine laugh.
“Oh–haha” Mine was awkward as I didn’t know what to make of his statement. “We did talk a bit during the vacation so things are a lot better between us,” I told him. He’d been the one I told when things with Cahir started to suffocate me so I should tell him now that things were better.
“Is that so?” He grinned. “Well, I am happy for you, cupcake.” He patted my shoulder. “I have to go see my angry boss now.” He shuddered and I laughed. The Aristo I knew was back.
“Good luck.” I grinned as he walked away.

Talking to Aristo made me feel comfortable and at the end of every conversation, I always felt a burden lifted off my shoulders. It was a miracle a man like Calile happened to have a beta and best friend like Aristo who was the exact opposite of him.

It was a weird nickname but I didn’t get to dwell on it as I ran into Avalon and Felicity walking into the pack house.
A familiar dread clawed its way up my throat.
