Chapter 1710
Yvenne's heart nearly stopped as she followed Fiona's gaze out the window, feeling a sudden rush of panic. Could Fiona have caught on to her scheme?
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Yvenne mustered a nervous smile. "Ms. Fiona, I really have no clue what you mean."
Fiona stood up, and with a cool, almost amused expression, began pouring her coffee over Yvenne's head. Her eyes were cold, cutting right through her.
"You thought you could pay off the paparazzi to catch everything outside and I'd be none the wiser?" Fiona asked, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips.
The hot coffee ran down her, making Yvenne shiver uncontrollably. Yet, the heat of the coffee was nothing compared to the icy dread coursing through her veins because of Fiona.
Fiona was smart-too smart.
Yvenne found herself speechless, her face pale as she tried to think of a rebuttal but came up empty.
"I have no idea what you're saying," Yvenne insisted, though her voice lacked conviction.
Fiona didn't bother with an explanation. She simply gave a knowing smile and glanced up, her eyes gleaming. "What do you think would happen if someone overheard you? How long do you think your design career would last?"
"What are you getting at?" Yvenne's eyes went wide with fear, her mind spinning.
In a panic, she turned to Fiona, desperate. "I'm sorry, Ms. Fiona, it's all on me. I won't do it again. I shouldn't have been sneaky or taken what wasn't mine. I'll tell the people outside to leave right away. Please, don't let this get out. I swear, it'll never happen again."
She was shaking with fear. If Fiona exposed her, she'd be discovered in no time, and any hope of getting her share of money would vanish.
"Oh? Is that so? Then call off the people downstairs and delete all your files."
Yvenne, in a hurry, phoned the paparazzi, but they were already too excited to let the scoop slip away.
"Ugh, idiots!" she cursed, slamming the phone down.
She was stuck, realizing she'd made a huge mistake targeting Fiona. Now, she was caught in her own è trap. If Fiona chose not to let her off easy, She'd lose everything-her reputation, her money, maybe even her freedom.
"Ms. Fiona, I didn't expect it to turn out like this."
"Not my problem," Fiona said with a slight smile, picking up her phone, which had been recording all along.
In that moment, it all clicked for Yvenne, and she couldn't help but point at Fiona, her voice rising. "You set me up!"
"We both did," Fiona replied, her smile intact as she walked away, phone in hand.
As Fiona left, Yvenne's face twisted with rage. She thought she was the one setting the trap, but Fiona bad the one pulling the strings all . noveldrama
Step by step, Fiona had outsmarted her. Even in her current mess, why wouldn't
Fiona just let her off the hook?
Was she really going to drive her to the edge?
Yvenne screamed in frustration, destroying the room in her anger, her gaze
locked in the direction Fiona had gone.
"I won't let you get away with this."
If her downfall was inevitable, if everyone would soon know her success was all thanks to copying Fiona, she might as well face it head-on.
Maybe, just maybe, in total chaos, there'd be a shot at a miracle.
What do you think?
