Crystal took a gulp of ice water, feeling the heat in her chest subside a bit. With her eyes closed, she shook her head, "We hardly get to see each other. I don't want to go home yet. Let's hang out a bit more!"
Sophia laughed, "Look at you, still up for more fun!"
Crystal flashed a wide smile and held up four fingers, "My record? Three days and nights without sleep!"
Sophia pushed down one of her fingers, "Wasn't that during your heartbreak phase? Let's not dredge up those miserable times!"

Suddenly, someone pushed the door open. Miranda sprang to her feet and cooed as she approached the newcomer, "Why are you just getting here now?"
The man, dressed in a suit and looking quite handsome despite the smell of alcohol, wrapped his arm around Miranda's waist with a smile, "Ran into some old friends and ended up having a couple of drinks."
