"Have a good rest at home. Wait for me to come back."
"Okay."
After saying it, Norah watched Shawn leave.
The snow began to fall more heavily.
As it was snowing heavily, Norah watched him walk further and further away.
Suddenly, she thought of something. Then she shouted at his back, "Shawn..."
He didn't seem to hear her and continued to walk on.
At that moment, a huge surge of power rushed over Norah's body. Without hesitation, she frantically
ran toward Shawn.
Then, Norah grabbed Shawn from behind. Her head pressed gently against Shawn's back.
The snow fell heavily.
Snowflakes fell gently on both of them.
"I can't let you go." Norah said in her soft voice as she acted coquettishly.
It had been the scene he had longed for most.
However, when Norah did hug his back and pamper him, Shawn couldn't give her a satisfactory
answer.
The two of them stood silently embracing each other in the snow.
Everything around them was silent.
After a long time, seeing that Shawn did not reply to her, Norah could only let go of her hand in
disappointment and said softly, "Since you are going to get busy, you should go now. Don't worry. I'll
take care of myself."
"Wait for me." He lowered his head and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Alright." Norah nodded and said, "But you can't keep me waiting too long."
After saying that, she stood on tiptoe. She stopped feeling shy and gently touched her lips to his.
Because of the cold weather, both of their lips were cold.
Even so, Norah felt her heart was burning on fire.
Shawn said, "Come on! I'll watch you go up."
"Okay."
Norah turned around, stepping over the snowy tracks, one step at a time.
When Norah went out, she felt extra warm because Shawn had just taken her hand.
When Norah returned, there was suddenly no one else around her. She felt as if the air had become
cold too.
Shawn had been watching her from behind her.
Shawn didn't turn around until Norah had entered the neighborhood and was completely out of sight.
Then he walked away and got into his car.
Once Norah was upstairs, she immediately went to the balcony.
She could see his car clearly through the glass of the balcony.
He was driving fast.
His car disappeared completely within a minute. Then Norah couldn't see anything.
Norah propped her chin up in her hand and peered into the distance.
She wondered if she was overthinking it. Lately, he seemed to be extremely busy. It was like he was
busy with something very mysterious.
Thinking about all the phone calls Shawn had been taking, Norah couldn't help but wonder what the
other side of the line had told Shawn that would make him leave her and go out of his way to get there.
Then, Norah shook her head and told her not to think about it.
Once Shawn was in the car, he looked very intimidating.
When the call came through, Shawn said in an icy tone, "Did you find her?"
"Mr. Lawson, we're still doing our best to find her."
"How long has it been?"
The assistant said cautiously, "It's been... It's been two hours."
"Two hours?" Shawn became increasingly angry and said, "Why are you telling me this now?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Lawson. We thought Miss Fountain had just wandered off by accident. I thought we
would find her soon, but we didn't... We didn't expect..."
"Cut the crap. Find her immediately."
"Yes, Mr. Lawson."
Ten minutes later, Shawn arrived at the hospital.
After looking around the ward, once Shawn pushed open the window, he saw a small garden
downstairs for patients to take a walk.
He immediately reached out, pointed at the garden, and said, "Have you looked there yet?"
The assistant replied, "Yes. Miss Fountain isn't there."
"Go and look again." Shawn ordered.
"Got it."
Soon, a few minutes later, the assistant reported, panting, "Mr. Lawson, we've found her. Miss Fountain
hid in the grass behind the bench."
"Why haven't you brought her here yet?"
"Miss Fountain won't come up. She says she'll only come up if you go over."
Shawn shot a sharp look at his assistant and said, "Can't you even get someone up here since I'm
paying so much money to hire you?"
"Mr. Lawson, Miss Fountain is not in good shape. And she's very agitated. Whenever we got close, she
would shout like crazy. We're afraid of affecting the other patients, so we're afraid to go straight over."
Shawn pursed his lips and didn't say a word.
After a long time, Shawn said, "Take me there."
A few minutes later, Shawn was standing downstairs.
When he passed, several men nearby said respectfully, "Mr. Lawson."
At the sound of the voice, Lilian, who was stumbling and sitting in the grass, immediately looked up.
She looked up at Shawn with a tearful face.
She smiled and said in a soft voice, "Shawn, you're here?"
"You know what? I've been waiting for you to come over."
"Lilian," Shawn stared at her angrily. He was so angry that the veins popped out of his temple. "Do you
even know what you're doing? Do you know what will happen if you do this?"
Lilian laughed and said in a soft tone, "I know. Of course, I know."
"But I just wanted to see if you would be anxious and come looking for me."
"Shawn, you don't think I don't know that you went to be with Norah as soon as you came back from
abroad, but so what? Shawn, admit it. You still love me. You still care about me, don't you?"
Shawn stared at her angrily and said, "Lilian, you're unbelievable, and I'll say it again, I didn't come to
you because I care about you. I came to you because I didn't want to make a mess of things."
"I'll say it for the last time. If you ever pull a stunt like that again, I won't come looking for you. I will RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
come to collect your body."
The word "body" scared Lilian.
She hadn't expected him to say such words.
"Shawn, how can you be so cruel? Don't you really have any feelings for me?" Lilian said as she
looked at him sadly.
Shawn looked coldly at the people around him and said, "Get her into a wheelchair. Then, you guys
push her upstairs."
When they got to the ward, Lilian was screaming like crazy.
She pushed the wheelchair and smashed everything in the room that she could.
Shawn just looked at her coldly. He didn't move or say a word to stop her.
Shawn didn't look at the people around him until Lilian had finished smashing things. He said, "Can
someone tell me how she got down there? Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on her?"
One of the men immediately bowed his head and said, "Sorry, Mr. Lawson. Miss Fountain said the view
down there was very nice, and she wanted to go down for some air. I thought she could not walk
around and wouldn't go too far, so I agreed."
Shawn sneered and said, "So tell me how did she get lost?"
The truth was that Lilian had planned everything.
After going down, Lilian deliberately fell out of her wheelchair. Then, bit by bit, she crawled behind the
grass and hid there.
It wasn't until someone noticed she wasn't in the wheelchair that they realized she was gone.
"Starting today, double the number of guards outside. Send two women here. Wherever she goes, you
must keep an eye on her."
After saying that, Shawn looked at Lilian and said, "I'll discuss with Prof. Smith to advance the date of
your operation."
