CHAPTER 40
ALPHA ROBIN'S POV
I wanted her to recover fast. I was not about to take chances when it comes to her.
After sending the nurse away for a couple of minutes, I locked myself in and walked to my safe cabinet. After closing all the blinds and ensuring that no one was looking at me, I proceeded to remove the spell book that I had hidden in that safe for months.
The papers were loosely attached to the brown spell book that made me so careful with it, I did not want to ruin it.
I quickly flipped the pages till I got the page that I liked.
Practising magic was banned in our pack, I knew that I was going against the pack rules but I had to. I had to do this for myself and also for her.
After kneeling beside her and holding her hand, I started reading the spell. Once I was done, I expected her to wake up but she did not.
This got me all tensed up, I have gone against the pack for her, this surely has to work out.
If the Beta finds out about what I have done then I will not be forgiven. I will be ripped off my titles and asked to leave the pack.
I returned the spell book to the safe, and took a few minutes to calm my racing heart. All along I had thought that I had worked on being a strong person but not anymore. I was weak, I felt weak. I felt defeated and unable to contain and control my emotions.
Lola knew about this, about the spell book and where I got it from. She had swore never to reveal it to anyone. She is carrying my biggest secret ever and therefore I had to always do what she wanted otherwise, I will pay dearly for my consequences.
I had tried my best, even broke the rules for her but she had not responded. The best healer is on his way, I just hoped that he manages to heal her fully. I cannot be myself seeing her in that level of pain and not knowing who put her through that pain in the first place.
I felt weak, the same way I felt when past relationships came to an end. It's true what they say about love, you cannot be strong the way you would want to, you cannot guard your heart the way you would hope to. If and when you fall in love, you fall in love completely.
Even if I cannot agree with him on his face, the Beta was totally right. I was losing it. I could barely recognise myself. I was a weak man in love. All the hard work that I had put in place to guard my heart backfired on me.
I was still standing by the window, staring into space, lost in my thoughts when I felt a tap on my back. Who could that be?
Upon turning around, which I did right away, I saw her. She was completely healed, you would not tell that she was at the verge of death a couple of minutes ago. The black magic had worked.
"Why are you surprised to see me?" She asked, with her sweet smile gracing her face.
"I am happy you are here," I told her.
"You said that you would not bring me to your quarters, what changed?" She asked.
Wait, did she forget what had happened to her.
"Anita, let's go sit and talk," I instructed, holding her hand and leading the way.

I opened my eyes and the white ceiling blinded my vision. I looked around and realised that I was not in my room, I was somewhere different.
I wanted to panic but then I felt his strong scent and immediately I knew that he had done for me what I have always wanted him to do, to bring me to his quarters.
I quickly got out of bed and went to find him. He was shocked to see me, which confused me for a minute.
He then led me to sit with him for a chat. The entire time he was looking at me as we were conversing.
"Are you sure that you are okay?" He kept on asking this question.
"Yes, I am fine," I repeated.
"Do you remember anything?" He asked.
"No, I don't. The last time I checked, I was conversing with Lola. The next time I woke up and found out that you had actually brought me to your quarters," I explained. "Wow, that's great. So, do you love the place?" He asked.
"I am obsessed. I am so glad that you decided to bring me here. Thank you so much my love." I told him.

I got out of my chair and went to give her a hug. After that, I kissed her on the forehead before leaning in to kiss her sweet juicy lips. She kissed back as I embraced her tightly.
I was still scared of the spell that I had just casted. What if it backfires. I didn't want us to make love, she is too feeble for that, maybe what I can do is to make her a plate of food. She needs to get nourished.
I went to the kitchen again and she sat there watching me as I cooked for her. After a couple of minutes, we were done and I started feeding her.
Halfway through it, I heard a knock on the door.
66 Sir, the healer is here," The Beta stated and was instantly confused when he saw Anita coming to stand beside me.
"Which healer? Are you sick my love?" Anita asked innocently.
"Wait, what is going on here?" The Beta asked.
"Baby, are you sick?" Anita insisted, putting me on the spot.
"Can we talk outside?" I requested the Beta.
"No, let's talk here," He insisted, knowing fully well that Anita will give him all the details that he would want.
