Falling for My Contractual Wife

Chapter 696

Just as Carter felt his arm was about to break, Brian suddenly let go of him and swiftly grabbed his other hand, twisting it behind him as previously did.

"Ouch, Mr. Brian, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me. I won't dare to do it again. I didn't touch Miss Sherman with this hand."

Brian lasted for a minute, making Carter feel pain for a full minute before pushing him away fiercely.

Brian said coldly, "Mr. Zen, be careful when discussing collaboration with women in the future. Otherwise, one day you might run into trouble."

After Brian finished speaking, he turned around to hold Grace's hand and walked out of the private room.

He walked very quickly, and from his steps, Grace could feel his anger.

She was very hungry and since she had drunk a few glasses of wine, her stomach was very uncomfortable. Being dragged by him like this made her feel even worse. "Brian, let go of me and let me walk by myself."

Brian didn't say a word, just pulled her to the hotel entrance before stopping.

He turned with his face grim as he stared at her. "Why didn't you tell me anything?"

Grace relaxed her wrist that he held so tightly previously while glancing at him. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Why didn't you tell me that there was a problem with your project? Why didn't you think about having me to help at first?" Brian's voice grew louder and his tone deepened. "You'd rather talk business with a brainless pervert than come to me. Grace, am I that unimportant in your eyes?"

Grace lowered her eyes as she had indeed never thought of asking him for help in this matter.

Over the years, she had learned to shoulder everything alone without relying on anyone's strength. She didn't think there was anything wrong with her behavior, so she looked at him. "Why do I have to ask you for help?"

"You!" Brian was so angry that he choked.

Grace pressed her burning stomach, lacking any energy to argue with him. "Thank you for today. I'll go back first."

Brian suddenly pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.

"I'm sorry." Brian took a deep breath and continued, "Next time, if there's anything, remember to tell me immediately, okay? I'll help you solve all your problems."

Grace pursed her lips and replied after a while, "I understand. Thank you again for

today." She pushed him away and said, "Let's go back."

"Alright." Brian habitually held her hand and got into the car.

Instead of driving straight back, he took her to a twenty-four-hour restaurant.

"Have some food so your stomach

will feel better." He could tell that she was feeling uncomfortable as the moment he entered the private room, he knew she hadn't eaten a single bite.

After having some food, Grace felt much better.

The two of them then went home together.

The car drove into the garage and when they reached the door, they found Austin sitting alone in the living room.

Grace trembled in shock and quickly ran in. "Austin, why are you here alone?"

Tears welled up in Austin's eyes as she said, "Mommy, I'm waiting for you to come back."

Grace's heart suddenly ached. "Silly girl, it's already so late. Why are you waiting for me?"noveldrama

Austin lowered her head, the fear in her heart slowly dissipating.

Austin was terrified as she knew there were once people who wanted to harm her and Grace. When it was getting late and Grace hadn't returned, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
