grabbed their children and cowered on the ground, afraid to be collateral damage in case something

bad happened.

"Did you call the police?" One of the armed officers asked Logan. He was obviously the leader of the

team.

"Yes, there."

Logan raised his arm and pointed at the Maybach not far away calmly. He was waiting for a scene to

go down. Did that bad man really think he wouldn't do anything if he had his mother?

The police would deal with the bad guys.

The policeman looked at the Maybach in front of him. When he saw the man sitting inside, he

immediately thought that the child had misunderstood something.

"Mr Maynard."

Logan was waiting to see the bad man being taken away by the police, but what he saw was the police

kowtowing to the bad man. His world collapsed around him. Did he call the wrong kind of police? The

other policemen were even trying to lecture him.

"Kid, don't prank call the police. Your parents are just here to pick you up, you shouldn't call the police

for fun."

"..."

Logan didn't know what to think. Wait, whose parents?

His mommy was there. Who was the father?

Only then did Henry open the car door and step out. His noble aura was intimidating. "Have you figured

out what's going on?"

"Yes, Mr Maynard, your son was just being mischievous."

With that, the police left. The North City police force had just been ridiculed in front of so many people,

but they didn't dare to scold the perpetrator. It was a huge embarrassment to the entire force.

After the police car left, Henry looked at the little fellow standing at the side. "This brat actually called

the police to arrest me!" he thought angrily.

Luz was not sure whether to laugh or cry at this development. She lowered her head when she met

Logan's disapproving eyes. How would she tell him about her relationship with Henry?

"There's no need to call for such an expensive car just to pick me up. I'd prefer an ordinary taxi."

"..."

Knowing that the little fellow was expressing his dissatisfaction, she had no choice but to hug him.

"Logan, baby, there's a grandma who would love to meet you. Would you come with me?"

Logan stared at Luz for a long time, then turned to look at Henry. "Whatever."

Luz took that as a yes and pulled him into the car. Just as Henry was about to start the car to go to the

Maynard family residence, he heard the boy say from behind him, "Drive slowly, Mr Driver, I don't like

the sound of the accelerator."

"..."

The corners of Henry's mouth twitched. "This brat is calling me a driver!" he thought.

Luz felt a lot better after all this, especially when she saw Henry unable to lose his temper. It was very

gratifying.

At the Maynard family residence, the old lady kept going to the door to look out, but she did not see her

grandson's car pulling up. She was a little anxious. "Why hasn't Henry brought Luz and my great-

grandson here?"

Maddison was feeling very frustrated. She had been slapped, but she hadn't had the chance to take

her revenge on Luz before Henry claimed their relationship in the press conference. They even have a

son between them!

"Don't worry, mother. Maybe it's because she dares not to bring the child here. Nowadays, everything

can be faked."

"Shut up."

After hearing Maddison's words, the old lady's kind face immediately became sterner. "You're just bitter

towards Luz. You were never nice to her in the first place. Now that Luz is coming back with my great-

grandson, you better behave yourself. If I find out you're playing dirty tricks again, I won't forgive you."

"Mother, how can you say that to me? I was just trying to keep you grounded. I know you really want a

great-grandchild, but what if it's not Henry's? It's very easy to trick men, you know."

Maddison was cursing the old lady in her heart, but on the surface, she was a picture of filial

obedience. She knew that the old lady had never liked her. She had even called her a whore when she

was younger. Now that her husband was gone, she had even more reason to pretend to be meek.

When she thought of her dead husband, she hated him even more. She spent her entire youth on that

man, but he gave everything to his mother after his death. Otherwise, she and her son wouldn't have to

live so piteously.

"Luz and my great-grandson are coming soon. You better watch your mouth, or I'll throw you out of the

house."

The old lady snorted coldly. She knew what Maddison thought of her. She didn't like her, but she loved

her grandson all the same. She couldn't be completely impartial, but she tried her best.

Maddison was the one who was hung up on the Maynard family inheritance. She was paranoid about

not getting anything.

She felt a migraine coming on when she thought of the upcoming feud caused by the family

inheritance. She ignored Maddison and went straight to the kitchen to check on the food and make

sure that the food was all warmed when her grandson arrived.

When the Maybach arrived at the Maynard family residence, Logan was the first to get off the car. He

pouted. "The car's not nice. My butt hurts."

"Mommy, don't forget to pay. Don't spend too much money on this useless car in the future."

"..."

Henry got out of the car, his brows pulled in a tight frown. "This brat is impertinent." he thought.

There was a smile on Luz's face. She instinctively distanced herself from Henry and was about to take

the little fellow into the house, but just as she moved, a hand fell on her shoulder and pulled her over.

"Don't forget about your lover."

He leaned over to her ear and whispered a threat. Her body stiffened, and a burst of anger surged in

her chest, but in the end, she could only hold it in.

Damn it. She had selfishly delayed Declan for seven years. She couldn't let anything happen to the

Carver family because of her.

"Oh, you're finally back."

As soon as the old lady heard the sound of the car, she immediately walked to the door and saw the

harmonious scene of the family of three coming in together.

"Hello, grandma."

"Grandma, we're back."

All three of them spoke at the same time. Henry frowned and glared at the boy beside him. This was

his grandmother, not the boy's.
