Chapter 44: Will Him Give Up?
Chapter 44: Will Him Give Up?
After a busy day, Felicity finally returned to the house she rented.
After collapsing on the sofa and relaxing for some time, the sense of busyness all over her body
seemed to have slowly filtered out.
Although the rent here was much more expensive than living in a dormitory, life here was particularly
comfortable.
It was way better than that dark and hypocritical atmosphere in the dormitory.
After a long rest, Felicity stretched out lazily and opened her laptop to start her work.
She had just taken over the important design project, and there was still a lot to learn.
Riley had also asked her to sort out the design materials and find more inspiration for the designs.
Felicity was full of energy. She had forgotten about the pregnancy and Jason. The only thing on her
mind was her work.
Just as she was about to start work, the doorbell rang loudly.
Felicity was surprised. She had just moved here a few days ago. No one knew she live here.
Somewhat puzzled, she went to open the door and saw two people outside.
It was Amanda and her assistant Sylvia.
Felicity, however, did not know them. She frowned and asked, "Umm… you are…?" Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Sylvia looked aloof and said with disdain, "This is Miss Sullivan. Are you Felicity James?"
"Yes." Felicity answered, a little confused.
She had never met these two women. How did they know her?
"Good! Miss Sullivan wants to talk to you about something."
Sylvia indicated the intention of their visit.
Felicity looked at their clothes; one looked very expensive and noble, the other looked like an office
worker. They both didn’t give off any bad people vibes.
"Come in, then."
Felicity stepped sideways to invite Amanda and Sylvia inside.
Amanda curiously but secretly looked around as she entered Felicity’s humble abode. Her place was
very simple and small.
She was confirmed again. Felicity was just an ordinary person without any background at all!
"Hello, I'm Jason’s fiancée. He told me everything that happened with you at the University."
Amanda haven confirmed that Felicity was just a poor girl from a plain background, so she went
straight to her point and said as she had planned, omitting all greetings and manners.
What?! Hearing her words, Felicity’s mind went blank as if she was struck by lightning.
"Look! You don’t know Jason. He is a bit of a playboy. He loves to play around with women and have
fun. It gets really outrageous! I'll take good care of him in the future. I hope you don't mind... "
Amanda looked at her in a particularly friendly way, as if she was concerned about Felicity.
"If Jason did anything with you, please don’t misunderstand it for love or anything! If you want, I can
compensate you however you want. Is that okay with you? "
Amanda said this, Felicity mind began to fall in a trance.
Her whole body and even her thinking became slow and sluggish, as if she couldn’t hear what Amanda
was saying.
Actually, she heard her but couldn't accept what she was saying.
Amanda, however, noticed Felicity’s subtle reactions and, continued to attack her with her words
dipped in honey of fake concern.
"I hope you don't get entangled with him in the future, or continue to be trapped by him. After all, the
Reed family is such a powerful family. They are very strict in deciding who would be Jason's future
wife!"
She said, implying that such a small insignificant family like Felicity’s would never even be considered
to be worthy of Jason.
"Miss James, do you understand?"
Amanda saw Felicity’s delayed response, so she approached her and asked her in a seemingly kind
voice.
For some reason, Felicity felt unbearable sadness in her heart and she couldn’t stop her tears from
falling.
She desperately tried to swallow the lump in her throat that was threatening to choke her and nodded
her head in embarrassment.
"Thank you for telling me. I don't need any compensation. I understand wha… what should be done."
"No, thank you Miss James. You are very sensible. If you need any help in the future, please feel free
to call me!”
Amanda was very satisfied with Felicity's reaction. She took out a business card and placed it on the
shabby tea table.
Having said what they came here for, Amanda and Sylvia left.
The moment Felicity closed the door after them, her tears suddenly seemed to burst from her eyes and
began to flow freely down her face.
Jason already had a fiancée? He personally told Amanda everything that happened between them?
Felicity's heart was full of bitterness.
She also doubted for a bit whether Amanda had lied to her. After all, she did not know anything about
Amanda.
But on the other hand, how much did she know about Jason?
Amanda had said one thing absolutely right, that is, Felicity did not know Jason at all.
And she would never be able to afford to be with someone of such status anyway…
In fact, only by having nothing to do with Jason in the future, Felicity could live a normal life.
What made her really sad and distressed was the baby in her womb… Her baby won’t have a father as
soon as it would be born.
At the thought that her child would suffer the same fate as she did, Felicity could not stop feeling sad.
Her mind was spinning in confusion and suppressed grief.
In the end, she had to endure the sadness and wipe away her tears as if nothing had happened.
The tribulation since childhood had cultivated Felicity's strong character.
She could not run away or hide; she could only face her hardships and work hard.
For the baby, for her mother, she couldn’t fall down in despair and give up.
She went to the bathroom to wash up, rubbed her red swollen eyes, opened her laptop, and began to
work.
…
After Amanda left Felicity's place, Sylvia asked her uncomfortably.
“Miss Sullivan, do you think that Felicity will give up?"
"It doesn’t matter. Even if she doesn’t give up, what can she do?"
Remembering Felicity’s reaction from a little while ago, Amanda sneered.
She didn't take Felicity seriously at all. There was no threat from her.
A woman with a small family like that didn’t even deserve to stand in front of her, let alone become her
competitor. She could never try to fight and snatch the title of Jason reed’s wife from her.
"Miss, do you have any plans?"
Sylvia tried to make her explain.
"If she doesn't listen to me, I'll have to teach her a good lesson! You! Pay more attention to where
Jason goes these days and report it all to me! "
Amanda seemed to have thought of something; she paused, and then curled the corners of her mouth
into a treacherous smile.
"If I can, I'd like to claim his body first!"
The ‘he’ in Amanda’s sentence obviously referred to Jason.
Sylvia also smiled knowingly and nodded at Amanda.
"Yes, I understand!"
"By the way, give me the contact information of the president of FR Group."
Just in case, Amanda still wanted to keep all chances open.
After all, she was not sure what Jason thought about Felicity.
If Jason were to find out about what she just did… God knew what he would do.
It was better to play steadily and strike hard at Felicity when she gets the chance.
As soon as she said that, Sylvia immediately fiddled with her mobile phone, and read Amanda a string
of numbers.
