Chapter 25 Men Were Notorious Liars
Chapter 25 Men Were Notorious Liars
After hanging up the phone, Gabriel looked much more relaxed. But when he saw me, his smile froze
on his face.
"Miss Hunter, why are you here?"
The expression on Gabriel's face became a little unnatural, and he was avoiding my eyes. This made
me sure that he was w=doing something wrong.
"I heard your call just now."
I got to the point immediately. Now I didn't like this man named Gabriel at all, because I was sure that
he wasn't a good guy.
Hearing what I said, I could clearly see that the expression on Gabriel's face had changed, and there
was a guilty look in his eyes.
"Well, Miss Hunter, I..."
Gabriel tried to give me an explanation anxiously, but before he could finish his words, I interrupted
him.
"Mr Austin, let's talk over there. There are so many people coming and going here. You don't want
others to overhear, do you?"
I pointed to the end of the corridor, where there was a window, and said this to Gabriel.
The expression on Gabriel's face became stiff, but because he was guilty, he could only follow me to
the window.
"You were calling another woman, and you have an abnormal relationship with her, am I right?"
I stared at Gabriel coldly, and my voice was demanding. When I thought of the fact that Gabriel had an
affair with another woman behind Evie's back, I was full of anger.
Evie was my best friend. I wouldn't allow her to suffer even a little.
"Yes..." Gabriel knew that I had heard everything on his call, so he was very smart and did not deny it.
"Miss Hunter, could you please not tell Evie about the phone call just now?"
Gabriel looked at me anxiously with pleading eyes.
"Answer my question honestly. Do you like the woman on the phone or Evie? If you don't like Evie, just
break up with her!"
He was a scumbag, just like Vaughn, so I had no good feelings towards him at all. I did not disguise my
scathing words at all. I wasn't worried about ruining our relationship. I was more worried that Evie
would be betrayed.
"Of course I like Evie. The woman who called me was just a young girl who had been pestering me. I
didn't know what to do, so I coaxed her. I'm telling the truth, I only love Evie!"
As soon as my question came out, Gabriel immediately raised his finger and assured me that the
person he loved in his heart was Evie.
If it were me, I would definitely not want a two-faced, cheating man like Gabriel. But I could see that
Evie really liked him. If she knew about this now, she would be sad.
"I can keep this from Evie, but you have to promise me one thing!"
After thinking for a long time, I decided to give Gabriel a chance. After all, he was not as bad as Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Vaughn, who cheated on his fiancee with her best friend.
"What conditions? Tell me! As long as you don't tell Evie about what happened today, I will agree to any
of your conditions."
Gabriel looked at me, flustered. Before I could say what I wanted, he agreed without hesitation.
"Since the person you love is Evie, then I don't think there's any need for you to contact those
insignificant women anymore. I hope you can treat Evie with sincerity."
I said my conditions and stared intently at Gabriel.
His eyes flashed, and he agreed to my request without hesitation. "Okay, I can do it. I will only be good
to Evie in the future, and I will never flirt with other women in the future."
I glanced at Gabriel impassively. "I hope you can remember what you said today. If you ever betray
Evie, I'll make you pay!"
I walked up to Gabriel and said these words coldly. Then I strode away without looking back.
Men were notorious liars. If it were me, I wouldn't have given Gabriel Austin a second chance, but Evie
liked him. Also, I didn't have any substantial proof that Gabriel was cheating on her, so even if I told
Evie about this, I might ruin my friendship with her.
I was also hoping that Gabriel would take my words into heart and treat Evie sincerely. I really hoped
that they could get married, have kids, and live happily ever after.
After I returned to my seat, Gabriel came back a few minutes later. I knew that he deliberately
staggered his return.
"Gabriel, why were you in the bathroom for so long?"
As soon as Gabriel returned to his position, Evie leaned closer to her boyfriend and pouted. She looked
at him reproachfully.
"I'm not feeling well, so I stayed in the bathroom for a while. I'm sorry I made you worried."
Gabriel looked at me guiltily when he said that. He was relieved to see that I didn't expose him.
"You're not feeling well? Gabriel, why didn't you say so earlier? Are you okay? Do you need to go to the
hospital?"
When Evie heard that Gabriel was not feeling well, she immediately became anxious and looked at him
worriedly.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. I'll be fine after I get home and take some medicine. You don't have to worry about it."
Gabriel's expression was a little unnatural as he dealt with Evie.
I knew that he was lying. In my heart, I despised him. He was obviously having an affair with another
woman, but now he even used the excuse of "not feeling well" to get Evie's attention.
I took a sip of water from the glass beside me, trying to hide my urge to expose him.
"Hollie, Gabriel is not feeling well, so let's call it a day. Let's get together next time, okay?"
Although Gabriel had already said that there was nothing wrong with his body, the naive Evie was still
worried about him.
"Okay, we're done here anyway. Let's meet again next time."
I stood up and glanced at Gabriel indifferently as I said this.
"Then I'll take Gabriel home first. You can take a taxi back."
Just as Evie said that she wanted to send Gabriel home, Gabriel immediately refused.
"No, I can go back by myself. Honestly, I'm fine. I can go back by myself."
"It's better if Evie sends you home. You're not feeling well, and she'll be worried if you go home by
yourself. It's better for her to send you home."
I knew that Gabriel must be afraid that Evie would sensed something, so he found an excuse to refuse.
But I had other ideas. Since he promised that he would break off contact with other women, then he
should show it with his actions.
