Chapter 88 Are You Sober Now
Chapter 88 Are You Sober Now
Harriet was so drunk she couldn't even tell the direction, she blinked dizzily, and grabbed Wesley's
hand trying to remove it from her chin, she spoke with a tone of arrogance.
"I'm freaking rich, of course I can afford to use you. I'll buy you for a night, name your price."
A hint of keen interest shone through Wesley's eyes, "Harriet, look at me properly. Who am I?"
Harriet tried her best to look up and observe, but then she gave up and waved her hand at him, "I don't
really care who you are, everybody just wants money anyways. It's as simple as that."
She then took out a few red money bills from her handbag, and shoved it into the man's hand. " “SNG
Apartment, No.6, HU Road, drive me there."
She really had moved and wasn't planning to tell me about it, Wesley thought to himself.
Wesley now looked a bit irritated, he pulled the woman roughly and threw her into the car. He then
glanced at the money bills in his hand and a mischievous thought crossed his mind. He drove speedily
towards the destination.
They're now at the single apartment at SNG Apartment, No.6, HU Road, along the corridor.
The lift's door opened and Wesley carried the drunk woman out.
Harried staggered again, she tried to break free of the grip, "Let me go, I want to go home."
"You are home." said Wesley, expressionless. "Where's your key?"
Harriet readily took out her key, but she stopped halfway, she frowned and was sizing up the man, "No,
I can't let you in."
Wesley squinted and was smiling with his eyes, "What did you say?"
"I said, you can't come in." Harriet repeated herself a bit angrily, "I need my own personal space, I don't
want to be always under your control."
Wesley's eyes were filled with slight rage, he gripped her hand tightly.
"Do you know what you are saying, you drunkard?"
Harriet who always acted accordingly was now out of control.
"Of course. I hate you, I hate your guts, I hate how controlling you are. You never cared about how I
feel. Even a pet has times when they want to let out their emotions for a bit. But me? I never even get
the chance and you never once thought about me."
Wesley's eyes were now misty and cold, "Harriet, don't forget that I just promised you about letting you
choose your own role for a shooting."
He gave the woman a choice but she wasn't even grateful, and was biting him back.
"To heck with that, that's my basic human right!"
Harriet was yelling her lungs out, venting out all of her frustrations that were slowly piling up throughout
the years.
"If you never wanted to grant me my freedom, then don't promise me in the first place. Now you want to
take back your words and threaten me with it? Oh please. Make up your damn mind. You can have any
woman in the world, just let go of poor old me. I just want my peaceful days back, I lost so much
because of you, and you still want to threaten me over such a small request?"
Sentences came tumbling one after another from Harriet's mouth, Wesley's expression got darker and
darker.
"Let me go!"
Harriet tried to free herself from his grip again, at this moment, Len's cold and stern voice pierced
through the still atmosphere, he sounded a bit angry, "What is going on?"
He went to take out the trash and saw the scene, it was obvious to the bystander's eyes that Harriet
was being bullied by the other person. He walked up heroically and tried to pull Harriet over to his side.
"Didn't you hear the lady, she told you to back off." Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
But he wasn't able to grab her, instead he got flung away very inhumanely by Wesley.
Len stumbled, he frowned in pain but wasn't going to back off, "Who are you and what's your
relationship with Miss Clark? Why are you forcing yourself on her?"
"Don't be a busy body." Wesley was annoyed, he pulled Harriet over and was going to get the key from
her bag.
Len rushed towards Wesley to stop him from getting the key, "Don't be impolite towards Miss Clark!"
Wesley was angry, he was already annoyed by what Harriet said, and now there was another guy who
didn't know his place, interfering with the situation. Wesley was very furious.
"Argh!"
Len grasped in pain, he supported himself on the wall and was panting softly.
Wesley looked at him like he was an insect.
He didn't even push him that hard, it was just a graze and this guy was falling all over, hitting the wall
and stumbling. This guy was so weak, he thought to himself.
Harriet saw what happened, Wesley was treating her good old neighbor roughly. She immediately
sobered up, pushed Wesley away and went up to Len nervously to check if he was okay.
She saw it with her own eyes, Wesley had abnormal strength and a normal person who never
underwent any form of martial art training wouldn't beat him in a fight. Not to mention Len, a sick and
frail person!
"Mr. Davis, are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"
Len frowned and scowled, he shook his head in pain and said, "I'm fine..."
"You look like you're in pain, how could you be fine!" Harriet turned her head and glared at the man,
"Wesley, how could you be so inhumane?"
He was upset, looking at how worried the woman was about the guy he pushed towards the wall, he
said demandingly, "Come here."
"No way in hell."
Harriet turned her head again, this time very furiously. She supported Len and was trying to get him
back to his apartment, but she was jerked violently by Wesley and she fell into his embrace.
"Miss Clark!" Len yelled worriedly. He met Wesley's menacing gaze, but he wasn't about to back down.
...this familiar menacing gaze, the feeling of suppression and oppression were just like he remembered!
Len was roaring with emotions on the inside, he was filled to the brim with anger and hatred, but the
practice of keeping his emotion in check for all these years helped him calmed himself down.
"It's okay, Mr. Davis. This is something personal, please go back and rest, and don't worry about me."
She was afraid that Wesley was going to hurt Len, she was unwilling, but she said to Wesley, "Let's
have a talk in my apartment."
Len looked at Harriet helplessly, "I'm sorry for being nosy, but judging at the situation, I could call the
police for help."
"No, don't." Harriet shook her head hurriedly, "It's really okay, we know each other. It's just that we had
a small argument just now. You should really head back and rest."
She then opened the door and let Wesley in without any hesitation.
Len stared at the door while it slowly closed, his meek expression slowly faded away and he smiled
cunningly.
The door slammed, Harriet was yanked by Wesley into her bedroom the moment she stepped into the
apartment. She was still dizzy and couldn't react to what he was doing, and the next thing she knew
was that she was pushed down onto her bed.
She almost suffocated until Wesley finally released his grip. His eyes looked dangerous and his face
was dark, "Are you finally sober now?"
Harriet gasped for air, she breathed in and out but she didn't dare to say a word even though she was
boiling with rage. She was certain that if she talked back right now, she was probably going to be as
good as dead.
"Wesley, what in the world do you want from me?"
Wesley laid his weight on her body, Harriet felt an oppressive air over her.
"That should be my line."
"You moved away secretly, got very intoxicated even though I told you to never drink. Harriet Clark, you
are very good at testing my patience."
Harriet glared at him, "Well, you didn't ask about anything. You didn't contact me for the past few days,
it's not surprising that you didn't know about me moving. Also, since when, I'm not allowed to drink."
Wesley quickly corrected her, "It was on the contract. You signed it without reading it carefully?"
Harriet choked on her words, she was now regretting her decision of drinking until she lost all
reasoning. It was fun to talk back at first, but she was now in very deep trouble.
"I'm… I'm dizzy." Helpless, she tried to act meek to win some pity. But she was quite drunk to start with,
her acting was pretty convincing.
Though Wesley wasn't falling for her trick, he held her chin up and said, "Oh really? Should I help you
sober up a bit?"
Harriet rubbed her temple, "No, seriously. I'm really not feeling well. I need to go to the toilet for a bit..."
Wesley imagined the dreadful scene of her puking all over him. He thought for a bit and stood up.
Harriet hurriedly rushed to the bathroom and puked her heart out.
