Chapter 115
I was furious. I couldn’t believe that Dax would stoop so low. And to make matters worse, I had to wear one of the sultry dresses that Aston had filled my wardrobe with. I had nothing decent to put on.
When we got to the place, I saw Dax standing there, a snug look on his face. His eyes raked over me lustfully, and I felt a surge of anger. I wondered how it was that I spent most of my life with such a man, he had no sense of shame.
“You bastard,” I spat.
“Ah. Kira,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “You look lovely today. That dress really brings out the color in your
eyes.”
I wanted to punch him. “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” I said, my voice venomous.
Dax shrugged. “I’m just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Aston stepped forward, his eyes flashing with annoyance. “Let’s just get this over with,” he said.
I stood there, my hands balled into fists, my heart racing with anger and humiliation. Dax was standing in front of me, his Luna. Laura next to him with a sneer on her face, he seemed to be enjoying every bit of what was going on.
“Say it.” Dax said, his voice firm. “Apologize to my wife for your stupid and unacceptable behaviour,”
I felt a surge of rage at his words, but I bit back my retort. I wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of seeing me lose control. His wife was the fool.
“…I…I stammered, trying to find the words.
But I couldn’t bring myself to apologize. Not yet. Not ever. Not to him.
Dax’s smile grew wider, and he nodded in satisfaction. “Ah, Kira, you’re having a hard time submitting, aren’t you?” he said. his voice dripping with condescension.
Laura sneered at me. “You should be grateful we’re accepting your apology,” she said, her voice cold.
Aston stepped forward, his eyes flashing with anger. “Kira, just say it,” he said. “Let’s get this over with.”This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
But I shook my head. I couldn’t bring myself to apologize.
I felt a wave of frustration and pain wash over her. How could they expect me to apologize to this man, who had done nothing but make my life miserable? I thought about all the times he had belittled me, humiliated me, and made me feel small. And now, he wanted me to apologize to him?
I looked up at Dax, my eyes flashing with anger. “I won’t do it,” I said, my voice firm. “I won’t apologize to you.”
Dax’s smile faltered, and for a moment, he looked taken aback. “Excuse me?” he said, his voice dripping with anger.
I stood my ground. “I said, I won’t apologize to you,” I repeated. “You’re the one who’s been making my life hell, and now you want me to apologize to you? No way
Laura steppeil forward, her face red with anger. “How dare you she spat. “You’ll do what my husband says, or you’ll suffer the consequences
I was a little scared since we were on their turf and Aston did not give two shits about rue, but I stood my ground. I knew that if I apologized, I would be giving in to their demands, and I would never be able to hold my head up high again.
I was standing there, frozen in shock, as Aston stepped in front of me. His phone screen cast a faint glow on his face, and 1

could see the smile on his lips. I had almost forgotten he was there, and his sudden intervention caught me off guard.
“What are you doing. Aston?” I whispered, tugging on his arm.
But he didn’t respond. He just kept his eyes fixed on Dax, who was seething with anger.
“How dare you!” Dax spat, his face red with rage. “You think you can just interfere in this? I see you don’t value your people.”
Aston did not seem to be listening and if he was, he wasn’t showing it.
“You’re just making things worse for yourself, Aston!” Laura warned, her voice shrill,
But Aston didn’t back down. He stood tall, his eyes locked on Dax Even I was beginning to wonder what Aston was up to.
Dax sneered at Aston. “You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into.
Aston smiled. “I know exactly what I’m doing,” he said and his words sent a small shiver down my spine.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
“Aston stop,” I whispered, tugging on his arm again. “Please, just let it go. I said not for Aston’s sake but for Dax’s, not that I cared about Dax but I just really wanted to kill him myself.
But he didn’t respond. He just kept his eyes fixed on Dax, his expression firm.
The tension between them was palpable. I could feel the anger and hostility emanating from Dax and Laura, but Aston seemed unfazed. He stood his ground, his eyes never leaving Day’s fare.
I didn’t know what to do.
“Aston, please.” I whispered again, but he didn’t respond.
He just kept standing there, his eyes fixed on Dax, his expression firm. And I knew that I had to trust him, to trust that he knew what he was doing because he always did.
I was about to pull Aston aside and remind him that members of his pack and his goods were at stake, but before I could even move, he landed a very hard slap across Dax’s face. The sound of the slap echoed across the room, and Luna’s scream, was almost deafening. I was so shocked.
Dax’s face was red with rage, and he took a step back, his eyes witle with shock. He definitely didn’t see that coming and neither did any of us in the room
“I don’t care what beef you have with my maid,” Aston said, his voice low and menacing, “but the next time you bring me or my pack into it, you’re going to be in that dock when it blows up
Dax’s eyes narrowed, and he sneered at Aston. “You’ll pay for what you just did,” he spat.
But Aston just smiled. I’m shaking in my boots,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Lama was still screaming, her voice echoing off the walls. “You’ll regret this!” she shouted, her face red with rage.
But Aston just turned to me and said. “Let’s go.”
“What just happened? Lasked Aston, still trying to process what I had just seen.
I couldn’t shake off the feeling that this was far from over Dax and Laura were not the kind of people to let things go, and I knew that we would have to face them again soon.
I tried to follow Aston out of the room, but Laura grabbed my an and pulled me back. “You’re not going anywhere,” she
spat. “You both are going to fix this, how dare you slap my husband and what? You blew up the port too?! Who the hell do you both think you are?! I’m going to teach you a lesson you’re never going to forget!”
I turned to face her, my anger boiling over. I tried not to let it show that I was as surprised as she was about the port. The guards just came to deliver the news to Dax and all the blood in his face seemed to have left.
“Let me go.” I said, trying to shake off her grip.
But Laura just laughed. “You think you’re so special, don’t you?” she said. “Well, let me tell you something, Kira. You’re not special. You’re just a maid”
That’s when I lost it. I pulled my arm free and slapped Laura across the face, harder than Aston had slapped Dax. “I’m more than just a maid. I said, my voice shaking with
rage.
Laura’s eyes widened in shock, and she stumbled backward, clutching her face. “You’ll pay for that.” she shouted.
But I just stood there, my chest heaving with anger. “I’m not afraid of you,” I said.
Aston appeared as my side, a smile on his face. “Well done,” he said.
I turned to him, still shaking with anger and a little shocked that he would commend what I just did.
We walked out of the room together, leaving Laura and Dax behind.
As we walked, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. I had stood up for myself, and I had stood up to Laura and Dax.
But I knew that this wasn’t over. Laura and Dax would not forget what had happened, and they would seek revenge.
“What are we going to do now?” I asked Aston, feeling like we were some sort of team or power couple, I was letting the whole thing get to my head but Aston was quick to bring me back to reality.
“There’s no we, you’re going to learn to keep your mouth shut and act like the maid that you are and I’m going to try not to kill you for putting my people and my goods in danger.”
