Chapter 1260
When Quincy dropped to his knees, the room fell silent. It was a rare and powerful gesture that showed just how deeply he cared. Few men would humble themselves like that, but in that moment, Quincy left no doubt about his love for Lydia. His commitment had never wavered.
Lydia, overwhelmed with emotion, couldn't stop crying. Seeing her tears, Mr. and Mrs. Perez finally softened. Unable to bear seeing her so upset, they reluctantly relented, allowing Quincy to take her home. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
On the way back, the tension between them was palpable. Though they were together, something invisible stood between them, making everything feel awkward. Lydia's mind wandered back to what Quincy had said earlier.
"You mentioned that someone took advantage of the situation," she said, breaking the silence. "Do you know who it was?"
Both of them had long suspected that someone was behind the rumors, but they hadn't been able to pinpoint exactly who.
Quincy, in the middle of taking off his jacket, froze for a moment. His eyes flickered briefly before he answered, "It was Eugene who took you that night."
At first, Lydia thought Quincy was referring to the night she left his family's home. But after a brief pause, she realized he was talking about the night on the yacht.
Suddenly, it was like something sharp hit her in the chest, and she almost stumbled. Quincy reached out to steady her, but Lydia's mind was reeling.
"So... Eugene did all of this?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Seeing the look on her face, Quincy regretted telling her the truth. But he nodded silently.
The confirmation made Lydia feel like her heart had dropped and shattered into pieces. "How could he do this to me?" she murmured, her voice trembling. "I thought we were friends..." Her body sank slowly to the floor, her legs giving out beneath her. Seeing her in so much pain only made Quincy's anger toward Eugene burn hotter. He wanted nothing more than to tear him apart for what he had done.
"Lydia, please, don't do this. Let me help you up." Quincy tried to comfort her.
"Why, Quincy? Why would he do that to me?" Lydia clung to his hand, her voice breaking.

It was hard to tell if it was the frustration she had been holding in for days or the deep hurt from Eugene's betrayal. His two-faced behavior cut her deeper than she could bear. Lydia's emotions erupted like a flood, and once they started, there was no holding them back.
Tears streamed down her face, falling onto Quincy's hand, the heat of them making him flinch.
In the office, he held her in his arms for what felt like hours, simply letting her cry.
After that, Quincy turned his focus onto Ford Corporation. Any contract or business deal Ford Corporation had lined up, Quincy went after it with relentless determination. Quincy's aggressive tactics left people in his office stunned. The employees gossiped amongst themselves.
"Why's Quincy got such a personal vendetta against Ford Corporation all of a sudden? We've never had issues with them before."
"Haven't you been following the rumors online? Eugene's involved in that scandal with Miss Lydia. Of course Quincy is pissed!"
"Yeah, what man could let something like that slide? Honestly, I think he's going easy on them."
Though they whispered, the office
buzzed with talk about Quincy's personal motives. But Ford Corporation wasn't going down without a fight. After losing several deals to Quincy, they retaliated, and soon enough, the rivalry between the two companies escalated into an all-out corporate war.
Lydia, however, knew nothing of this. Wanting to protect her from the stress, Quincy kept her at home to rest and recover. No matter how fate he worked, he always came back to spend time with her. But tonight was different.
When he called, his voice was full of regret. "I'm so sorry, Lydia. I won't be able to make it back home early tonight. There's a problem at the company that I need to deal with."
