Chapter 82
“Are you home?” Jaxton sent a text message to Sydney who had a day off.
She had decided to clean her house and also to make sure she bought some foodstuff for herself.
It had been a while since she cooked she deemed it necessary to cook today.
The phone was on the table and she was yet to reach it because she was bent on being done with whatever she was doing.
She made her breakfast and then she went on to watch movies.
That was when she took her phone and then went on to read the message from Jaxton.
She placed it down to return the message later.
She stayed on her couch not touching her phone or laptop but she had the time of her life watching the series she had not had time to watch over the week because of work.
It was noon and suddenly her phone blasted off with the familiar ringtone.
She jolted from the couch where she was laying and because she had drifted off to sleep for a bit she picked up the phone after checking the caller ID and it was Jaxton.
“Hey babe, I texted you but didn’t reply what’s up?” he asked as he heard her voice over the phone.
“Hey, Jax, I am sorry I just was occupied cleaning and packaging things that I forgot to reply to even though I had in mind to respond to you” she replied to his question.
“Are you done?” he asked.
“Yes I am done was just bungewatchingvsome movies and series I had not watched over the week because of you know work,” she said.
“Okay that’s fine” Jaxton responded and there was a brief silence before he spoke again.
“So what do you intend to do after that?”
“Well I would go grocery shopping my cupboards are empty and I think cobwebs grew in there” she responded and then with a little laughter.
“Okay no problem then, I would like for you to rest then,” Jaxton said not wanting to impose on her day of rest.
“I am bored and I would like for you to come to keep me, company babe, besides it’s been a long we spent some time together I mean after the park incident,” she said as she remembered the last two weeks’ incident that she had stood him up and maybe he had seen her with Paxton or so.
“Okay no worries I would come to keep you company after work hope that would be a great way to spend the beginning of the weekend and you wouldn’t stand me up” he replied.
“No, I wouldn’t I promise last time I was bothered and went out to stroll in the park that is why I lost track of the time” she explained he just let out a laugh and then went back and forth with a little chitchat before he stopped the call because he wanted to focus on some documents in front of him.
She continued with her movies going on and on as she laughed by herself as she watched the funny parts of the movies.
When it was around 1 PM she decide it was time to go to the grocery store she saves some of the movies to binge-watch later.
Sydney walked out of the house after she had picked up her purse and some other necessary things that were supposed to be used by her and she popped a gum into her mouth as she took the walk down the grocery store she was not far from the grocery store.
Just two hundred metres from her home.
She used that as an opportunity to exercise she had not even been exercising as she was supposed to so she started her walk down the road slowly with her headphones.
She walked till she got to the grocery store picking out some stuff as she remembered she was going to go back home because Jaxtom would be coming over soon.
As she finished picking the things she went to the cashier to pay for her stuff when she heard a familiar voice she had not heard in a long time.
“Sydney?” She heard her name and as she turned she saw her high school boyfriend standing just in front of her.
“Micheal, geez it is you, long time no see!” she said as she watched him come close to hug her.
Sydney didn’t know if it was appropriate to hug her ex-boyfriend the way he did.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
“Michael let go of me I think it is okay” Sydney laughed awkwardly as she shifted from him and then they began having a chit-chat.
“It’s been what… five years or so?” Micheal said.
“Yeah, and you’ve changed so much don’t you think, you look more beautiful, to say the least, and it’s exciting too, maybe we can hang out sometime?” he asked.
“Yes we could I have to get going now,” Sydney said as she turned to pay for her grocery but Micheal went to stop her.
“What kind of friend would I be if I don’t lend this helping hand right here, I’ll pay for it,” Micheal said.
“Are you sure?” Sydney asked.
“Yes I am sure and extremely sure about that,” Micheal said as he took out his card Sydney thanked him and then she walked out of the store with her wraps taking a walk back home as she jogged to her music.
“What exactly was that about?” she asked herself as she thought of what Micheal did in there.
She knew he was a bastard and had narcissistic behaviour but she had thought he would have changed by now she was sure he was trying to show off a few minutes back and she just didn’t want to cause a frenzy where they stood and she too didn’t want to be a centre of attention Jaxton might just have found out what she had done at the grocery store.
Speaking of which there he stood at her front porch.
