To Simon, Janice seemed even more dazzling, radiant in a way she hadn't been before. She wasn't just beautiful, she was confident and capable. All of this used to belong to Simon Janice was his.

Simon's chest lightened as he watched her retreat. His voice rose behind her, tinged with desperation. “Janice! We were together for seven years. Can you really just forget it all?"
