Chapter 269
Did Janice trust Audrey's skills that much?
"I saw the piece you made when you applied," Janice said without even looking up. "What's the matter? Don't you believe in yourself?"
"Of course, I do!"
Audrey was 33 now and had been a seamstress since she was 19.
Though she had never entered any competitions, her skills were solid enough that Onley Group had relied on her for years to ensure quality control. That alone spoke volumes about her expertise.
In Janice's eyes, Audrey's craftsmanship was even better than that of Proper Stitch Group's seamstress supervisors. And with talent like that? Anyone would want to recruit her.
Yet despite her skill, Audrey had remained completely unknown all these years.
Onley Group had deliberately kept her in the shadows, afraid that if people discovered her abilities, she'd be poached by competitors. She had all this talent, yet no one knew her name. Who wouldn't feel frustrated in her shoes?
"To be honest, I'm planning to send you to this year's Summer Tournament."
Audrey nearly dropped her fork. "Me?"
She was stunned.
She had only been working here for less than a month and hadn't even showcased any work yet. How could Janice just randomly pick her for such a big competition?
"I'm not going to enter myself. I need to train talented people. And I think you have incredible skills. If you focus on your craft, winning an award is only a matter of time."
Janice finally looked up, her gaze warm and encouraging. It was almost overwhelming.
Audrey swallowed nervously.
Janice was so sincere-so trusting. But Audrey was a spy. How could she compete?
If Louis found out...
Janice took a sip of water and then glanced at her. "Don't you want to make a name for yourself? Have the whole world know who you are?"
"I—"
Janice cut her off, saying, "Think about it. There are still three and a half months until the Summer Tournament, so there's no rush. For now, I have another job opportunity for you. Will you be interested?"
Another job?
Still dazed, Audrey followed Janice to the Yewford Town branch of Refined Threads Co.
"Ms. Smith."
"Good morning, Ms. Smith."
Janice nodded at each greeting as they walked through the factory, which was now running smoothly.
"This place needs a technical
director, someone to oversee the
seamstresses. When
sends in orders with specific

requirements, the technical director will be responsible for teaching any necessary techniques."
Audrey's hands trembled slightly.
"I think you're perfect for it. First of all, you're not married, which gives you more flexibility. The other supervisors all have families, so relocating here would be difficult for them. Think it over."
Audrey glanced around the massive factory, struggling to process it all. "You trust me to handle a place this big?"
The amount of faith Janice had in her... It was overwhelming. She felt herself wavering. After years at Onley Group, she had no title and only a slightly above- average salary.
Her skills were on par with top
international seamstresses, yet she had never been able to break free from Louis' suppression. Instead she had been stuck in the shadows, doing work that was never credited to her.
Like having her designs submitted to competitions under someone else's name.
"Ms. Smith, I have no management experience. I'm afraid I—"
"I'll assign you a secretary. You can discuss things together, and if anything is beyond your ability, just call me want to train my people. and to help them grow. You can take your time and climb step by step. Maybe one day, you'll stand on an international stage and win the recognition you deserve. And if you become great, that'll benefit me too, won't it?"
Her intentions were clear, open, and honest-completely unlike Louis'
manipulative, underhanded ways.
Just then, Janice's phone buzzed.
It was a message from her bodyguard. "Audrey's family has arrived safely in Greenfield City."
What do you think?
