CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
“But with time you will eventually get over it. Come on, enter the car, I would not want you to get there late.” That was all Nicole said, and she entered the car. I followed her as I also entered the car, and she zoomed out of the compound and finally out of town.

“Why do you think our son sent all the housemaids away, including the butler? What is he up to this time around?” Mrs. Camille asked her husband.
She knew her son was too stubborn, but she could not bring herself to come to a conclusion about what he was up to.
“Well, I do not know, but I am sure he has his reasons, or you should ask Ivy,”
Mr. Adrian and Gavriel were not that close to each other like other fathers and sons were.
Gavriel always distanced himself from his father because he thought that by doing that he would learn to be a better, hardworking young man.
“Well, I think I should ask the butler about what is going on, you and I know that Gavriel, our son, does not take hasty decisions like this, and I hope that you talk to him like how every father will talk to his son.” Mrs. Camille requested it from her husband, who has been trying his possible best to make sure that he and his son create a father-son bond, but Gavriel never wanted that, he wanted to grow into a rich, hardworking, responsible young man, he wanted to rule his own world with his money, and he never wanted that father-son relationship, he wanted to talk to his father like the man he had become.
“I will try my best to talk to him, just tell the head maid to share the duty with the maids our son sent here,” Mr. Adrian requested from his wife as Ivy walked in.
“Okay, dear, I will do just that,” Mrs. Camille replied.
“Good day, Dad,” Ivy greeted as she hugged her father.
Ivy is the youngest child of the family, she has Gavriel as an elder brother. Mr. Adrian and Mrs. Camille gave birth to only the two of them. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Good day Mum” she also greeted her mother and hugged her too and sat on an empty chair available.
“It seems like you are going out,” Mrs. Camille asked her daughter.
“Yes, Mom, I have something to attend to right now, and I am already late,” Ivy replied as she got up.
“Oh, okay, just take care of yourself and be careful,” Mr. Adrian advised his beloved daughter.
“When was the last time you spoke with your brother?” Mrs. Camille asked.
“Well, it has actually been long since I spoke with Gavriel, that was actually when he came along with Raymond,” Ivy said as she remembered that she wanted to ask her parents some questions.
“Okay, in case you get in touch with him, please do not hesitate to let us know,” Mr. Adrian requested from his daughter.
“Sure I will, and father, that reminds me, I saw Gray’s maids and butler in the house, did anything happen?” Ivy asked out of curiosity.
“Well, I and your mother are still confused about the whole thing. The butler said earlier when they arrived that they received a call from your brother saying they should move down here,” Mrs. Camille replied to her already anxious daughter.
“That is true, Ivy, that is why we were asking you if you had spoken with your brother,” Mr. Adrian said as he sipped from the glass of wine he was holding.
“No, I have not, I just hope all is well, at least he should have called to say something,” Ivy said.
“Well, I think we should not bother ourselves with this, because I do not think there is any problem since the shares that fell early this week are back to normal, maybe Gavriel wants to stay alone,” Mr. Adrian explained as he looked at both his wife and his daughter.
“Okay, if you say so,” Mrs. Camille said as she took the pill. a deep breath.
“Okay, I think I should be on my way now, I would not want to get stuck in traffic,” Ivy said as she picked up her bag from the couch.
“Okay, dear, take care of yourself out there,” Mrs. Camille advised her daughter.
“Okay, Mom, I will, and I will be back when I am done,” Ivy said, and with that, she walked towards the door.

In twenty-five minutes, we were still on the road, and luckily for us, we got away before the traffic started.
I glanced at the map on my phone as I gave Nicole directions because I had never been there before.
“Tina, are you sure we have not missed our way?” Nicole asked me. “No, we have not missed the way, the map is showing that we are getting closer.” I explained to Nicole, who was already scared, that it would soon be 7 p. m., and it seems like we already missed our way.
“I hope so,” she replied as she focused on her driving. Then she pressed on the accelerator, and the car sped up.
Slowly as we drove, we saw a large gate painted red that was closed, but suddenly it opened on its own, and I urged Nicole to drive in since we did not want lots of time to start admiring the place.
As we drove in, I looked at the map again, and it showed that we were very close to Mr. Gavriel’s house.
“Nicole, drive a little bit faster, I think we are almost there,” I said to Nicole as she sped up a little bit as she placed one of her hands on the steering wheel and the other she used to arrange her scattered hair.
I could tell that she was already stressed out, and that was because of me.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a large mansion, and I took a deep breath and got out of the car along with Nicole.
“Finally”
