Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 391

Chapter 391

James’ pov

Once we were done with our breakfast, I declined her offers to clear the table and did it myself, loading

the dishes into the dishwasher at once and cleaning everywhere up.

As I worked, Blair refused to leave the kitchen, choosing to lean against the other side of the counter.

Once I was had washed and dried my hand, I carefully made my way toward her. She was in one of my

shirts, a different one from the one she had slept in. Its still surprising to me that she had agreed to use

my shirts without arguments, which is very much unlike her.

I stopped a few inches away from her and let out a small breath when she glance up at me. She didn’t

have to look really high to meet my eyes because she wasn’t that short, and I liked that about her.

I drew closer to her, guaging her reaction and trying to find out if she’d try to back or run away, but she

did none of that, which made me continue to draw closer to her until only a little gap prevented us from

touching each other bodies.

Her face looked really soft, and the lights here in the kitchen caught the freckles on her face beautifully.

Her lips were curved so damn perfectly that I found my taking a long look at it before I tore my gaze

away to settle it on her eyes.

I reached out and slowly took one of her hand in mine, watching as she slowly swallowed emptily, while

still holding my gaze.

“How are you feeling?” I asked and watched as she blinked a little, because she probably hadn’t been

expecting that question.

“I’m feeling really okay… surprisingly.” She responded in a soft voice, and somehow, I believed that she

was being honest.

“That’s great. I’m really happy about that.” I responded with a small grin and I found myself tightening

my hold around her hand for a few moments.

We remained like that for a few fleeting moments before I began to speak once again.

“Can I hug you?” I found my asking the exact thought thst had appeared in my head a few seconds

ago. I watched as she blinked before wetting her lip a little.

“Yeah, yeah. Sure.”

When I pulled her into my arms and wrapped my arms around her body really tight, I felt her stiffen

against me at first . It made me instantly begin to think I had overstepped, but that thought dissipated

as soon as she melted against my chest, sinking deeper into the hug as her hands snaked around my

waist to hold me extremely tight to her.

It made my heart feel really tight as I allowed myself to lose myself to the hug. She smelt really nice,

and even though she was currently using my shampoo, she managed to smelled way nicer with it.

The hug lasted for over five minutes, and when we finally broke out of the hug, it was done reluctantly

on both sides.

Not wanting to overwhelm her, I took a step away from her, while still regarding her carefully. She was

quiet as she stared down at her bare feet and shifted her weight around for about a few minutes.

When she finally glanced up at me and broke the silence, I had almost began to get worried.

“I needed that so much.” She whispered, eyes shining a little like tears were about to gather in there,

and that didn’t sit tight with me.

“What’s that? The hug?” I asked and she slowly nodded her head.

“Yeah, it’s been so long since I last had one of these, I can’t remember the last time I had that.” She Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

explained and something stilled inside me, as pain filled my chest, while a single question echoed

around in my chest.

What kind of life had she lived before? compared to the one she’s currently living.

~~~
It was a Sunday afternoon, and I was thankful that i didn’t have anywhere exclusively important to be
in.
Luca was definitely going to be spending the entire of today at home today as well. I briefly wondered if
he had ended up working the shit out with Sofia as I made my way outside my house, walking around
the building to the second building in the compound where the people who I planned to question today
were being held hostage in.
The main person I wanted to question was the man whom I had brought home with me last night, the
one who had been shooting at me from the back of a bike. As expected, he wasn’t bleeding any longer,
his wound had also been stitched up.
I took my time to drag out the details I needed from him, carefully breaking him apart until he was
pleading for mercy and sobbing pathetically.
I left him in the building, knowing my man would patch him up once again, because I still wasn’t done
with him yet.
I made sure to take a thorough shower once I had done the necessary questioning that I needed to do
today, in order not to make Blair smell or spot a drop of blood on me.
Once I was done with the shower and went off to find Blair, the mood I found her in proved that she
was fairing so much better this late afternoon, which made me feel really proud of myself, which was
what prompted me into suggesting that we go sit on the roof for some time.
There, after some time of us dwelling in the calming silence of the roof, she began to talk about the
woman who had died on that television that night– about how the woman was her grandmother, like I
had concluded on my own.
Although, I was still very much confused, because the person who had died was from a royal family.
“Are you… blood related to the woman?” I asked tentatively and watched as she slowly nodded her
head in response, to my utmost shock and confusion.
A lot of thoughts were dancing around the inside of my head at once, but one particular one stood out
the most, and then I blurted out the next words that appeared in my head.
“Are you… royalty?”
