Best Revenge: Being My Ex-Boyfriend’s Aunt

Chapter 2940

Charity went over with a first aid kit.

Chester had barely managed to put on his pajama pants and was sitting by the bedside, putting on his prosthetic leg as he panted.

That scene made Charity unhappy.

"Aren't you feeling sick? Why are you still up? Lie down."

Charity pushed him onto the bed.

Chester felt awkward. "You should go back. I'm fine. I can take care of myself."noveldrama

"Be quiet." Charity took a thermometer from the first aid kit. "Put it under your armpit yourself."

Chester did so obediently. If it were in the past, no woman would have dared to talk to him that way.

However, he was okay with Charity doing it. He even felt an indescribable sense of pleasure and warmth. "I'll listen to anything you say, Charity."

Charity looked toward him strangely. If Chester used to be a heartless wolf, he would be like a husky, wagging its tail, at that moment.

"Are you hungry?" Charity asked.

"Are you going to cook for me?" Chester's eyes lit up.

"The fever must've fried your brain. You want me to cook for you? In your dreams.

But I can request your housekeeper to cook." Charity smiled. Men were an *sshole sometimes, and she did not want to obey Chester in everything.

It was because she was too submissive back then that she ended up being ruined by him.

She remembered it all.

"Yeah. Let the housekeeper cook. It will pain me to see you do it anyway. Your small hands are too pretty to be doing house chores." Chester was not disappointed by Charity's reply. "I'll just have some soup. I'm not hungry, and I think I don't have an appetite."

"I'll head downstairs to tell the housekeeper."

Charity turned around and went downstairs.

The housekeeper approached Charity cautiously when she saw her coming over. "Is Mr. Jewell hungry? I made some soup this morning and some snacks-"

"Okay. Serve it up, and I'll bring it upstairs," Charity said.

The housekeeper breathed a sigh of relief and quickly scooped some soup while Charity chose a few snacks. Charity had to admit that the housekeeper Chester hired had good cooking skills. Even though she had eaten breakfast at home, she found the snacks appetizing.

After bringing the food upstairs, Charity removed the thermometer that showed Chester had a 102-degree Fahrenheit fever. “You have a pretty high fever. Why don't I send you to the hospital?"

"Even if I go to the hospital, I'll have to take medicine to break my fever. I don't want to take injections." Chester shook his head.

"In that case, eat some food first, and you can take the medicine later."

Charity did not force him.

Chester leaned against the headboard. With his handsome face flushed red from

the fever, he looked pitiful. "Charity, I feel weak. Can you feed me?"

Charity pressed her lips together. However, Chester tugged and shook her clothing, looking as pitiful as he could get.

She was speechless. In the end, she took the spoon and fed him the soup. "What did you do last night that gave you a fever? Did you feel bad because your ex- fiancee has gone to jail and got a fever from worrying about her the entire night?"

Chester was grossed out. "Thanks, but she's not my fiancee. Charity Neeson is my only fiancee."

Charity snorted. "I wonder who almost married Cindy."

"I didn't marry her in the end. Besides, Cindy and I weren't engaged either." Chester swallowed the soup. "Moreover, I was the one who sent Cindy to jail. Don't wrongly accuse me."

"Since you sent Cindy to jail, what will you do about your mother's illness?" Charity asked seriously. "No one will be able to donate blood to her if she needs a blood transfusion."
