Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 250

Chapter 250

Mikayla scrambled up from the bed. She washed up quickly, put on her coat, and opened the door without

makeup

Eduard and William were waiting for her.

They usually got up early. Eduard had intended to let her sleep more while he went down with William, but she insisted on joining them.

The hotel’s buffet restaurant was located on the first floor, alongside the main lobby. It was only 7:00 am. Apart from a few staff on duty, there were few customers.

Mikayla was holding Eduard’s arm and chatting with him happily when he suddenly pointed forward. “Is that Jerome?”

She looked over and found Jerome sleeping on the long couch for guests.

He was still in the same clothes from last night. Half lying on the couch, he had nothing covering his body. He only had his coat to keep him warm. Despite his disheveled appearance, he still exuded a noble

aura. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

Mikayla

a assumed Jerome had left the hotel last night and stayed at another hotel. She didn’t expect him to be lying on the lobby couch.

“Why would Jerome be here? Grandpa, you must have seen the wrong person. Let’s go have breakfast.”

She attempted to take Eduard to the restaurant, but he tapped her forehead. “Do you think I’m blind? How could I not recognize Jerome?”

Mikayla pouted and told William to go to the restaurant first. Then, she went to Jerome with Eduard.

“Jerome, when did you arrive? Why did you sleep here?”

Jerome opened his bloodshot eyes upon hearing Eduard’s question. Obviously, he hadn’t rested well.

He sat straight and replied, “Grandpa, I arrived at midnight. The rooms were fully booked, so I rested here.”

His voice, which had always been clear, was hoarse.

“How would you rest well here? Why didn’t you go to Kay’s room? Eduard said distressingly.

Jerome glanced at Mikayla. “It was too late when I arrived. I didn’t want to wake her up.”

She scoffed inwardly, thinking he was sensible enough not to complain about her to Eduard.

Of course, Eduard could tell something had happened between them.

“You shouldn’t sleep in the lobby just because you didn’t want to disturb her.” He then turned to Mikayla. Kay, take Jerome to your room. He should get more rest.”

She reluctantly gave Jerome her room card. “Go there yourself.”

“Kay-”

“Grandpa, it’s fine. Please excuse me.”

Jerome accepted the cord, picked up his briefcase at the reception, and took the elevator to Mikayla’s

room.

“Kay, Jerome went to you at midnight, didn’t he? Have you kicked him out?” Eduard asked knowingly.

Mikayla pouted again, admitting it with silence.

“You know that he came here because he was worried about you. Not only were you not moved, you even drove him away!”

She said bluntly, “So, do you finally believe that I don’t like Jerome anymore? I won’t ask for a divorce for no reason.”

Since Mikayla came to Lakeville, she had never mentioned Jerome once or called him to let him about her itinerary. On the contrary, he was the one who took the initiative to video–call Eduard yesterday.

Eduard shook his head. “You must still be resentful to Jerome.”

Resentful? Mikayla wanted to deny it, but he broke off the topic. “Let’s go have breakfast.”

After breakfast, William accompanied Eduard to exercise in the garden while Mikayla returned to her

room.
