Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 241

Chapter 241

After Mikayla ended her call with Wanda, it was almost time to board the plane. They passed the security check and boarded the plane.

About two hours later, the three arrived in Lakeville. Since it was already late, they decided to head to the hotel first. They planned to go to the hospital to visit Eduard’s old friend the next morning.

Afterward, Mikayla led Eduard and William to have a hearty meal of the local delicacies.

When she returned to the hotel room, she checked her phone and saw a missed call from Jerome. She probably didn’t hear it because it was too noisy at the restaurant. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

In addition to the phone call, he had also sent her a text message. “Have you arrived?”

Mikayla didn’t bother responding since the message had been sent more than an hour ago. She took her clothes from her suitcase and walked to the bathroom.

Back in Dragoncrest Villa, Jerome had just returned from Miller Manor. Amy greeted him in the main hall and asked if he wanted a glass of water.

He shook his head in response. Everything remained the same, but he felt inexplicably empty inside the

villa.

“Sir, I stored the scones you brought home last night in the fridge. Would you like to give them to someone or keep them for Mrs. Miller?” Amy asked.

After all, Jerome never liked snacks. She had no idea what she should do with those scones.

He would have overlooked this trifle if she hadn’t brought it up.

Mikayla had insisted on buying the scones for Eduard and Wanda. But after all the fuss last night, nobody

remembered about it.

She was always more thoughtful and remembered to bring local specialties to the elders wherever she

went.

Speaking of which, she used to enjoy looking for interesting restaurants. She showed them to Jerome and invited him along to try them. But he felt it was a waste of time and always turned her down.

Later, Mikayla bought those snacks home and shared them with him. However, he never paid attention to

her.

Her expectations always ended up with disappointment. But the next day, she would regain her mood and continue clinging to him.

Jerome texted Mikayla again, “What should I do with the scones?”

After waiting a few seconds, she still didn’t reply to him. He turned to Amy. “Leave them in the fridge.”

Then, he headed upstairs and wanted to go to the study. When he passed the bedroom, he couldn’t help

but enter inside.

Amy usually wouldn’t clean the bedroom unless she was told to do so.

The room was almost the same as before. There was a blanket on the bed, which probably Mikayla tossed casually. Various pillows in different sizes were on the bedside, and Mikayla’s favorite ornaments were beside the cabinet.

After casually scanning around, Jerome turned around and was about to leave.

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of something in the trash can. It was the crystal night lamp he had brought

back for her from his last business trip.

He noticed that rabbit–shaped crystal night lamp while passing by a duty–free store at the airport. It

reminded him of Mikayla staring at the rabbit string lights.

So, he bought it and put it in the bedroom. She liked it and put it on the bedside table that night. Why would she throw it away for no reason?

“Why is the crystal night lamp in the trash can? Is it broken?” Jerome texted Mikayla again, but she still didn’t reply.

He returned to the study. After he processed several emails, there were still no notifications on his phone.

He called and texted her several times last night, but she didn’t respond and even blocked him on WhatsApp. Today, he called her once and sent her three messages, but she still ignored him.

Jerome became enraged and called Mike. “Check the hotel where Mikayla is staying and the reception number. Send the information to me right now.”
