Chapter 0231
ROSE
I walked inside the house and looked in the living room and the office, but neither Mom nor Dad was anywhere. So I walked upstairs and met Noah on my way up there.
"Hey, sis, why are you here so late?" He asks.
"Hey bro, I need to talk with Mom and dad," I tell him.
"They said they were going to go train in the forest. Is everything okay?" he asked me. I felt the tears push and shook my head.
"Hey, now, no crying. Come." He says, leading me into his room.
I have not often been in here, as we all like our privacy. But I am always shockednoveldrama
to see how clean his room is. We sit down on his two lounge chairs, and he looks at me.
"What's wrong sis? Is it the issue with Enzo and that Alpha? You don't think it's true, do you?" He asks and I shake my head.
"No, I know he wasn't lying to me. But it's my fault all this is happening." There I said it, I said what bothers me.
"It can never be your fault." He says, and I start crying.
Noah stands up, comes over, and sits with me, holding me close. I'm surprised by how big he already is.
"It's not your fault." He says again, and I keep crying.
"You don't understand." I manage to say.
"Then explain it sis. Please." He asks me.
"It's my biological mom who went and told Carlos that because she saw Enz, he looked like his dad, like you look like dad. So she figured it out. And probably did this because she hates me." I manage to say. And I feel the atmosphere of the room grow thick with anger.
"Fuck her, sis. She is a bitch, don't tell mom I said that. But Mia is a bitch, for more than one reason, not just this. She abandoned you, and Dad because she didn't like what she got handed. Because what she got was not in her plans. She decided to leave and hurt the most caring and loving soul, that she could have had in her life.
She did this, sis, not you. You did not sit there in front of her and said. My mate is the surviving son of the dead Alpha. You didn't tell her to go tell their enemy.
All you wanted was answers to end a pain inside of you. That doesn't make you a bad person. Or mean, this is your fault. Because it is not," Noah said, and I stared at him.
"What?" He asks.
"When did you get so grown up," I ask, and he chuckles.
"I have been for a while, sis. I do actually listen to what you all tell me," he says and smiles at me.
"Thank you," I say, and he hugs me.
A moment later the door opened, and Mom and Dad looked at us and smiled.
"You heard that," Noah says.
"Well, yes, your door wasn't fully closed, son," Dad says.
"I hadn't her stuff on my mind and I know the twins at a friend overnight. So..." he says dragging the last word out. And Mom smiles.
"Noah is right, sweetheart. It will never be your fault all this happens. Mia chose to
do this, not you,” Mom says and comes over to hug both Noah and me.
"Enzo told us. We met him on the way out of the forest." Dad says.
"Yes, he is covering a few hours on patrol for someone," I say
"Yes, he told us. And he told us what you found out about Mia and this whole thing. And your brother is right, this is not your fault, Enzo said you feel guilty but he doesn't want you to. He always knew someday someone who would try to hurt him would find out." Dad says,
"But if I hadn't looked for her." I start.
"Then you would not have met Enzo, and he would not have met you. Everything happens for a reason, sweetheart," Mom says.
I know they are right. And I would never regret meeting Enzo, never. So maybe I should just stop blaming myself. No, I would focus on being the best mate ever and mother to our pup.
"Who did you call, though? Because I know Leo talked to Alex, and no one knew how he found out; Alex didn't even know before now," Dad asked me.
"I should have told you, but I didn't think I would ever call him," I say. I had not told them about Michael.
"Call Who?" Mom asks.
"Mia's son, my half-brother, Michael. He lives in Alex's territory. That's how I found her so quickly. He gave Enzo a letter, where he apologized for what she did, and his number. I was not planning ever contacting him, but I had a feeling I couldn't shake off. And I think maybe it was wrong of me not planning to contact him."
"She had a son," Dad says. And I nod my head.
"From what I was told, she was never much of a mom to him either. Alpha Alexander had him basically raised at his mansion but was first when he started asking around for Mia that he found out he was her son. He is still not eighteen I say.
"Poor kid,” Mom says. Dad agrees with her.
"I felt sorry for him, but Alpha Alexander takes good care of him,” I said, and that made them relax.
We talked for a few hours. I told them what I knew about Michael, and they all told me we could invite him to visit if I wanted. Even Noah thought it was a good idea, and I told them I would think about it before I went back home.
What do you think?
