NIRVANA I had the longest shower in history. In fact, I lost myself in the mist. I could still be there if Knight hadn’t knocked on the door.
“I’m done.” I stepped out and wrapped myself in a towel.
I found myself staring at the mirror. I looked the same, except the irises in my eyes were slightly lighter. It was probably from the light in the bathroom because I felt the same.
“You okay?” Knight came beside me. I knew he was just concerned. After what I had been through, cheating death, I should have been horrified that magic could cheat beyond my understanding. If dying and getting saved by a master warlock counted as unnatural, then I was not a normal human being anymore.
I squinted my eyes as I looked at him in the mirror. “If you’ll ask me one more time, I swear I’m gonna punch your nose.”
He smiled. “We don’t have to be violent tonight. I’m just checking up on you. Anyway, I brought your clothes here. You said you didn’t want someone touching your things, so they’re still in your suitcases.”
“Isn’t this your room?”
“Yeah.”
I turned and faced him. “Then I should not be here.”
“And why is that?” He stared at me.
“Because this is your room. I’m fine with the spare if you have an empty room.”
“I want you to be here with me. I want to make sure there are no side effects from what Ambrose did to you. Is that okay?”
“Yeah. Besides, you need to keep an eye on me.” I smiled as I kissed him on the cheek, walking away from him. I went to his closet. I found my suitcases on the floor.
I grabbed my underwear, a shirt, and pajama bottoms. Knight didn’t follow me. I put them on and brushed my hair. I realized I didn’t have my necklace anymore; it was the only thing I had from my mother.
As I stared at the mirror, I felt tingles all over my skin. They weren’t strong, but they were enough for me to feel something, and then a voice somewhat pierced my ears.
“She just came from the shower. Is she okay during her meditation with you?” There was obvious worry in his voice.
What the hell?
“Yes. Just keep an eye on her.” It was Zarah. Knight was talking to Zarah. I couldn’t just figure out where this conversation took place. “I can make a protection necklace like I did for Shadow. It warns her if there’s a danger.”
“That would be great. Are you sure she’s not changing? I can’t smell anything. She’s still human.”
“I think she’s still the same. Maybe it should be triggered, but don’t go there, Knight. She’s been through a lot.” I felt the sincerity in her voice, a feeling like I was there with them. “We should take things slow. Don’t piss her off. And she should still enjoy without a lot of responsibility.”
“But there wasn’t dark magic or side effects, right?”
“No. Her soul is clean. As far as I can tell, she’s the same Nirvana.”
“Do you wanna see her?”
“In the morning before I go.”
“You can’t really stay for a couple of days?”
“I’m afraid I can’t. I have other responsibilities, Knight.”
“I know. I understand, but thanks for everything. She-” Knight paused. “I would have lost her if it wasn’t for you.”
“I did nothing, Knight. It was all Ambrose.”
“I don’t believe that. Ambrose wouldn’t find his way here if it weren’t for you.”
“Yes, witches use energy to do magic. It’s like consuming a lot of power from a power grid. So witches and warlocks can trace where that magic is made. And you can always reach out. I will come as soon as possible.”
I shook off and got out of the closet so I could not hear their conversation because it felt like eavesdropping, even if it wasn’t my intention.
When Knight came back, I was already sitting on his king-sized, well-made bed. I could smell him in it, a distinct scent I’d never smelled before.
“Hey.” He crawled into bed to kiss me on my forehead.
“You can kiss me on the lips, Knight. I’m sure if an evil spirit is inside me, it’s not contagious.”
He stared at me, eyebrows met. My joke apparently was dark.
“Gee.” I hit him playfully on his arm. “I was just messing with you, but not the kissing part.”
“I’m sorry.” He sighed deeply. “The food is here. Let’s go before the pizza gets cold.”
Guys were already in dining, waiting for us to join them.
“Sorry for letting you wait.”
“We just came back. The food is still warm,” MacKaye said.
“And before we start, I just wanna say thank you for everything, for being here for your alpha when I couldn’t.” When they nodded and felt grateful, I added, “And please, no more asking me if I’m okay. I’ll let you know if I feel weird or being possessed by the great evil warlock.”
“How can you tell if you’re being possessed?” Zarah chortled as she took a seat across the table. “When you wouldn’t know what you’re doing anymore. Let’s have dinner.”
Knight put two slices of pepperoni pizza on my plate, a slice of garlic bread, and a small calzone before he got himself the same as mine.
“I might have to leave tomorrow, honey.”
“Why so soon, Grandpa?”
“I can’t leave the restaurant. I’m sure you have things to do.”
“You can just call Zarah if you wanna see your granddaughter. I’m sure she will portal you here,” Kailin said.
“Well, that would be great.”NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
“It feels like cheating time and space,” West said humorously.
“What do you know about time and space, West.” North snorted.
“You both know nothing.” Zander grabbed another slice of Hawaiian pizza.
“I should lock you in jail. I mean, I like to try some food I saw on TikTok, but putting pineapple on pizza should be a crime.” Kailin cringed as Zander didn’t care about her opinion.
“Hey, mind your own taste in food. I like mine with a load of sweetness and savory. It actually tastes better than Tuna pizza,” Zander retorted.
“I like classic pepperoni with a lot of tomato sauce, basil, and cheese. If someone gives me a pizza with Alfredo sauce, I’m going to turn violent.”
“Did I lose your appetite, Vana?”
“No, Zander. We’re good.”
After our wonderful and fun dinner, Knight and I returned to his room. We brushed our teeth together and went to bed.
“I could use a good warm blanket.”
“I could be your human pillow.” Knight opened his arms for me.
I willingly went to his arms and hugged him. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“Me too, sweetheart.”
I looked right into him, and his green forest eyes were burning. I could sense the desperation and sexual tension crackling between us.
My heart was about to explode, and my emotions started getting turmoil. “You’re gonna stick to sweetheart, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” he said breathlessly, gently sweeping his thumb over my cheek. He breathed deeply, his chest rising before he slammed his lips into mine.
I instantly kissed him, running my fingers through his hair. The kiss was passionate and slow, making me ache for more. I felt him everywhere- his muscular body pressed against mine, his soft yet demanding lips, the roughness of his tongue, seeking entrance, his smell and warmth, his ripped muscles, the bulge in his sweatpants, the ache between my thighs.
I felt everything. It was overwhelming, yet I wanted more. I’d never felt like this before- hence, it didn’t work with somebody else.
He slid his hand down my back, towards my ass, squeezing, pulling my thigh against him so I could wrap my leg around his waist and feel his hardness- a huge long thick hardness, grinding against my aching core.
As our tongues dueled, he wrapped his arms around me and rolled over so he could be on top of me. With enough weight not to crush me, he moved his hips, putting a little pressure between my thighs, making me lose in so much pleasure.
A moan escaped from my throat as his kiss turned savage and demanding. He broke the kiss, and I breathed hard, gasping for air.
Moving his lips down my jaw, towards my neck, nuzzling his nose against my throat, he nipped the skin, sucked the spot where he should bite me during mating.
With an animal guttural growl, he bit my neck.
