Ben, Tony, and Donna crept into the room, their footsteps as light as wolves padding through the forest.
“If Mr. Lucas is acting like that, does it mean he’s chasing after Mommy?” Ben whispered, his voice filled with an undercurrent of fear.
Donna nodded, her eyes darting around the room. “That’s how things usually play out in the television show,” she replied, her voice low and cautious.
Tony remained silent, his mind consumed by the weight of the situation. It was plain to see what was happening.
“What do we do? Do we go along with it or stop it?” Ben’s desperation was palpable.
The other two siblings remained silent, their eyes filled with uncertainty.
“Why aren’t you two saying anything?” Ben’s frustration seeped into his words.
“Err, I quite like Mr. Lucas. He’s so handsome. But… I also like Mr. Handsome. What if he’s Daddy? I don’t know who to pick,” Donna confessed, her voice filled with conflict.
Ben sighed, realizing that Donna wouldn’t have the answer he sought. He turned to Tony, desperation etched into his face. “What about you, Tony?”
“I’m neither going along nor against it,” Tony stated firmly.
Confusion filled Ben’s voice. “What does that mean?”
Tony took a moment to gather his thoughts, his words measured and thoughtful. “Putting aside the fact that we don’t know if Alpha Kilian is our daddy or not, even if he is, why did Mommy leave him in the first place? If Mommy really doesn’t like him, do we really want to make her stay with him because it’ll make us happy? As for Mr. Lucas, if he can make Mommy happy and is stronger than Daddy, then I’ll accept him.”
Ben absorbed Tony’s words, understanding slowly dawning on his face. “I understand what you mean.”
Tony nodded, his confidence unwavering. “So, we’ll see who Mommy picks. Regardless of who it is, as long as Mommy likes him, I’ll accept him.”
Ben nodded in agreement, relief washing over him. “I agree with that.”
Donna pondered for a moment, uncertainty still flickering in her eyes. Eventually, she nodded as well. “I agree too.”
Ben turned to Donna, his voice filled with a blend of affection and concern. “I know you like Alpha Kilian, and whether he’s our daddy or not isn’t a fact we can change. You can continue to like him, but don’t force them together because of what we want. It won’t be good for anyone involved.”
“I understand,” Donna nodded, her eyes filled with a mixture of understanding and resignation.
As the siblings discussed their predicament, their thoughts were interrupted by a commotion in the living room. Zachary, their mother’s potential suitor, stood next to Nelly, concern etching his features.
“Did you apply ointment on it?” Zachary asked, his voice laced with worry as he gazed at Nelly’s swollen ankle.
Nelly nodded, a soft smile playing on her lips. “Tony applies it for me every day.”NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
Zachary’s smile widened, his admiration evident. “He’s a composed, obedient, and thoughtful child.”
Nelly couldn’t deny it, Tony had always possessed a maturity beyond his years. But worry creased her brow. Tony was also the one who troubled her the most.
Zachary’s mind raced with thoughts, curiosity eating away at him. “Are they Alpha Kilian’s children?” he ventured, his voice filled with anticipation.
Nelly was taken aback by the question, surprise flickering in her eyes. She turned to him, uncertainty filling her voice. “Is it that obvious?”
Zachary’s smile grew mischievous, his words filled with playful confidence. “It’s not obvious. I never thought about it like that, but after seeing him today at your office and how he treated you… It’s hard not to make the connection between you two. Besides, Tony looks like a mini version of him.”
Nelly’s lips parted, unsure of how to respond. She neither confirmed nor denied the truth behind his words.
Zachary pressed on, his voice filled with curiosity and concern. “He also doesn’t know the existence of the kids, does he?”
She nodded, relief flooding her features. “How do you know?”
“When I was heading downstairs, Alpha Kilian was waiting for me. He asked me what’s my relationship with you, and I connected the dots in my mind,” Zachary explained, his eyes locked on Nelly’s.
A wave of panic washed over Nelly, her voice filled with desperation. “You didn’t tell him, did you?”
Zachary shook his head, his gaze intense and reassuring. “No, I didn’t.”
Relief flooded through her, her breath escaping in a gust of air. She had been holding her breath, fearing the consequences of her secret being exposed.
But Zachary wasn’t done, his words filled with concern. “I don’t know what happened between you two in the past, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to keep hiding the truth.”
Nelly knew deep down that he was right, but the fear of the unknown kept her hesitant. She could only take things one step at a time.
“This Moonwalk pack is smaller than you may imagine. It’s only a matter of time before they meet each other,” Zachary warned, his voice laced with sincerity.
She nodded, her eyes filled with a mix of determination and apprehension. “I know. I thought about taking them overseas, but…” She glanced towards the old man busy in the kitchen. “Grandpa is getting pretty old. He doesn’t want to live overseas, and I don’t have the heart to force him to travel around with us. That’s why I want to accompany him in the country. As for the other things, we’ll see.”
“Alpha Kilian’s power and influence are great. If he knows the existence of the kids, he’ll want to take them back,” Zachary warned, concern etched into his features.
A smile tugged at Nelly’s lips, her voice laced with determination. “Even if he’s the king of the world, I’m not afraid of him. His power doesn’t automatically mean he’ll win.”
Zachary’s eyes sparkled with intrigue, his voice filled with optimism. “There’s a way to get a guaranteed win.”
Curiosity danced in Nelly’s eyes, her voice filled with eagerness. “What?”
Zachary took a moment to gather his thoughts, his words filled with a touch of hesitancy. “In the eye of the law, judges are more likely to favor complete families in cases like this. So, if you can form a new family, the chances of winning will be greater.”
Nelly narrowed her eyes, uncertainty flickering within her. She stared at him, their gazes locked in a silent conversation.
In that moment of silence, Alpha Wade’s voice travelled out of the kitchen, breaking the tension. “It’s time to eat!”
Alpha Wade served the food on the table, his eyes glancing towards the living room. “It’s time to eat, Mr. Lucas. Come, eat and chat.”
Zachary’s mind snapped back to reality, a polite smile gracing his lips. “Okay.”
He glanced at Nelly, his voice filled with a blend of hesitancy and hope. “It’s just a suggestion you can consider.”
She didn’t respond, her mind still consumed by the weight of her decisions.
The sound of running footsteps filled the air as the children rushed into the room, full of youthful energy.
With the three of them around, the atmosphere became lively and boisterous.
Donna patted the spot next to her, her eyes shining with excitement. “Sit next to me, Mr. Lucas.”
Zachary walked over to her, his smile warm and genuine. “Okay.”
Alpha Wade observed the scene with approval, his voice filled with warmth. “I hope you don’t mind these plain, homemade dishes, Mr. Lucas. Zach, if you prefer.”
Zachary’s reply was filled with joy and gratitude. “What are you saying, Mr. Jackson? I love to eat homemade dishes. My parents often had overseas trips, so I rarely get to eat homecooked meals. I feel lucky to be able to enjoy them today.”
The old man’s smile widened, his heart filled with happiness. “Really? Then you can come and eat with us whenever you feel like it.”
Zachary chuckled lightly, his tone filled with genuine warmth. “All right, then. Please call me Zachary. You can call me Zach if you like.”
Alpha Wade beamed at him. “All right, Zach. Eat as much as you like!”
Nelly glanced at Zachary, her heart swelling with affection. She ate with a smile on her face, grateful for the warmth and acceptance radiating from the room.
Donna’s voice broke through the chatter, her voice filled with innocence and curiosity. “Can I call you Zach too?”
Alpha Wade chided her gently. “Don’t be rude, Donna.”
Zachary interjected, his voice filled with kindness. “Of course, you can. I find it endearing.”
