Chapter 645 I Won't Stop You
She remembered that Christopher wasn't like this in another TV show she'd seen him in.
"Beckett," she ventured, "wouldn't it be better to... cut that line?"
Beckett let out a sneer. "You want me to cut it? I'd love to, but the problem is, that line wasn't even in the script! That kid added it himself!" Chloe felt speechless.
So, deep down, Christopher considered himself an authoritarian CEO type.
Michael wouldn't even say something like that, but Christopher seemed to pull it off effortlessly.
"And yesterday, he said the female lead's acting was bad. She's a former Best Actress winner! And she's still not good enough for him?" Beckett grew angrier with each word. Chloe realized she couldn't stay any longer; the tent was about to explode.
As soon as she stepped out, she heard the crew outside complaining about Christopher's diva behavior. He had over a dozen assistants and demanded touch-ups, water breaks, and rest stops every three minutes, even though his scenes barely lasted that long. The entire crew was at their wit's end.
His acting was mediocre, yet he had the most demands. He even insulted a veteran actress to her face, saying she wasn't worthy of sharing the screen with him. Chloe couldn't deny her surprise. She thought, "How did Christopher have the guts? He must have some serious backing."
"Yesterday, Gideon almost had his nose broken by Christopher, and he just got out of the hospital. I don't even know if we can continue filming today. It's so frustrating."
If Chloe remembered correctly, the cast of this movie was quite impressive.
There was Callista Royce, the award-winning actress; Christopher, the famous young star; and Gideon Pierce, the seasoned actor.
Chloe had seen Gideon's movies before and thought his acting was excellent. Not to mention, he was incredibly handsome.
However, ever since Christopher shattered her illusions, she felt that Gideon's persona was likely just that. It was just a persona. She didn't bother learning more about him. Lost in her thoughts, she noticed everyone suddenly looking towards the entrance.
Chloe turned as well and saw a man walking in against the light.
He was six foot three, with sharp brows and starry eyes. His emerald green pupils were like a deep, clear pool.
So this was Gideon Pierce. He was indeed... quite handsome.
Gideon walked past her without stopping. There was a bandage on his nose. It should be the injury caused by Christopher that the others were talking about.
Chloe looked away and asked around until she found out where Christopher's dressing room was.
She walked over and heard him on the phone before she even entered.
"I'll just quit. Whoever wants to act in this crappy movie can have it. They're nothing but a bunch of second-rate actors! How am I supposed to act with them? It's so boring!" Chloe pressed her lips, noticing he was just as arrogant and conceited as she remembered.
She waited until Christopher hung up before walking in and casually taking a seat opposite him. "So, tell me, what do you want?"
Christopher had met Chloe before and knew she worked for James, so his expression softened slightly.
"Nothing much. I just don't want to act in this movie anymore."
Chloe nodded knowingly. "Do you know how much the penalty for breaching the contract is?"
"I've been earning money for years. Do you think I can't afford the penalty for one movie?"
He remained unconvinced.
"I didn't say you couldn't afford it. If you don't want to stay in this industry anymore, you can quit right now. I won't stop you." Chloe's words made Christopher pause.
He had assumed she was here to persuade him, but she was supporting him instead.
"I... I'll continue acting, but the script has to be changed according to my ideas. Also, I don't like Gideon, the one who has scenes with me. Tell Beckett to replace him, and I'll continue." Chloe laughed at his outrageous demands.
"Who do you think you are? You can't just change the script and replace actors on a whim."NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
"My changes would make it better!" Christopher didn't see anything wrong with his requests. "Drag everyone down to hell with you.' That's your idea of a better script?"
