A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 954: Heartbroken

“Ranita? Ranita? What’s wrong?”

The phone that had flown out connected, and Brendon’s anxious voice came through.

Ranita, enduring the pain, reached for the phone. Sweat was dripping from her forehead as she rasped, “Brendon…”

“What’s wrong? Where are you?” Brendon’s breathing grew heavier, as if he were running. “I’m coming right now. Stay where you are.”

“I’m… by the fire escape next to elevator seven, on the third floor…” Ranita struggled to get up. Her ankle twisted painfully, her palms were scraped, and she was covered in dust.

Ranita tried to walk a few steps. Her leg hurt, but she could still move.

She was anxious and didn’t care about the pain, limping down the stairs while holding onto the railing.

“Ranita!” Brendon rushed over like a gust of wind and supported her. “Are you okay?”

Ranita grabbed his hand. “Brendon, go find the police. Ayaan has been taken.”

Brendon’s face changed immediately.

“Get on my back; I’ll carry you down.” Brendon squatted down, scooped her up onto his back, and quickly descended the stairs towards the police duty room on the first floor.

After understanding the situation, the police immediately checked the surveillance footage.

The footage showed Addyson, dressed as a cleaner, entering Benedict’s room and leaving about eight minutes later.

“She’s Addyson! She even called me! Officer, please help me find my child quickly.”

“Ranita, don’t get agitated. We’re already contacting road surveillance and retrieving Addyson’s information,” one of the female officers calmly reassured Ranita.

“I know you’re anxious, but it will take some time. Have a cup of hot water first.”

How could Ranita not be anxious?

If Addyson just took the child away, it would be one thing. But if she…

Ranita didn’t dare to think about that possibility.

“These days, there are cameras everywhere. You need an ID to travel by car or plane. We will find her.”

Though they said that, in such a large city, finding someone who is hiding isn’t easy.

Moreover, while they were looking for clues here, if the suspect left Steland, it would be even harder to find her.

“You can keep calling this number to see if she answers. Once we get a signal, we can locate the suspect’s hideout.”

Ranita kept calling, but Addyson’s phone was always off. It was unlikely that it would ever be answered.

Ranita’s heart sank further.

Knowing who took Ayaan but being unable to find them… this feeling tormented Ranita to the brink of madness.

“Ranita, everything will be fine!” Brendon comforted her. “I will find Ayaan!”

“I will turn Steland upside down if I have to, but I will find Ayaan.”

The police continued to check the surveillance footage. At first, Addyson’s figure was visible; she had a sleeping child on her back.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

But after about five kilometers out of the city, Addyson completely disappeared from view.

“What do we do?” Ranita clutched Brendon’s fingers, her eyes red. With Ayaan taken by Addyson, her mind was in chaos; she couldn’t think clearly.

Especially seeing Ayaan drowsily carried on Addyson’s back in the road surveillance footage.

Her heart was breaking.
