Chapter 925: Not Human
Shannon never expected that Brendon would return to the country early.
“I… I didn’t receive any news,” Shannon said, her eyes welling up with innocent tears.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s my fault for not handling things properly! We’ll proceed with what I arranged, and I’ll continue to meet your demands.”
Chole didn’t say much but comforted her, “Don’t panic. My parents never liked Brendon. After what he pulled today, my mom will dislike him even more!”
“If my parents don’t agree, Ranita probably won’t agree to be with Brendon either.”
Shannon asked curiously, “But Brendon is from the Stuart family. How could your parents not approve?”
Chole found it strange as well.
However, Alexia was so determined that she arranged this blind date despite Ranita’s objections.
“It’s not that they don’t approve; maybe my mom just doesn’t like him!” Chole paused and then said, “I need to deal with the camera situation. Are you staying here or going back…”
Originally there to watch the drama unfold, Shannon reluctantly decided to leave since there was nothing more to see.
Ranita nestled softly against Brendon’s chest. The car hadn’t been driving for long before it stopped.
“Where are we going?” Ranita asked groggily.
Brendon had initially planned to return to the villa but decided to take Ranita to a hotel to avoid interruptions.
“Hotel!” Brendon’s words startled Ranita. She struggled to open her eyes and weakly said, “Brendon… I’m in this state… and you still want to take me to a hotel.”
“Are you even human?”
Hearing this, Brendon pinched her slender waist in frustration.
“What did I do to you? How am I not human?” Brendon carried her into the room and placed her on the bed. Leaning over her, he said, “What are you expecting me to do?”
Who was expecting anything!
Ranita weakly reached out to hit him. “Stop talking nonsense! Brendon… I’m dizzy… I’m so sleepy…”
Seeing that she indeed didn’t look well, Brendon touched her forehead and said, “Wait a moment. I called a doctor to come check on you.”
“Ah…” Ranita’s eyelids felt heavy, and she lazily said in a coquettish tone, “Then why not go to a hospital?”
“Too many people!” Brendon paused and then kissed her lips, smelling the scent of champagne. He chuckled softly, “You’re so beautiful; I’m afraid someone might steal a glance at you.”
Ranita was coaxed into a good mood.
She completely forgot that they had been arguing earlier.
“Wait a moment…” Brendon said as he walked away quickly. When he returned, he was holding a spacious bathrobe.
“What are you doing?” Ranita tried to muster some energy, looking at Brendon with wide eyes.
“Your dress is dirty, and it’s uncomfortable to sleep in!” Brendon said as he reached for the zipper at her waist.
Ranita foolishly covered her chest with one hand. “No, no, no, I’ll do it myself…”
“Can you?” Brendon asked, his eyelashes lowered.
His long lashes hid the dark waves rolling in his eyes.
Ranita’s skin was fair, and any color of clothing suited her. The light blue dress made her skin look almost transparent. She was slender but not overly thin, feeling soft to the touch.
“I can!” Ranita nodded firmly, but she was dizzy, and her fingers had no strength.
Ranita tried several times but couldn’t unzip the side of her dress.
