Madelyn had just gotten back to her office when Emma walked in, giving her a look that clearly showed she didn’t like her.

Madelyn ignored Emma and started working on her computer. She needed. to finalize yesterday’s draft, which would take about a week, and the deadline was coming up soon.

Soon after, Jessie came in, sounding much friendlier than before. “The CEO of Phyton Corporation wants to talk to you before you do the next part of the project,” she said.

“The CEO of Phylon Corporation?” Madelyn asked, curious.

“Yes, the CEO wants to meet with you because he likes your design,”

Jessie said.

Madelyn nodded. “When is the meeting?”

“Today at 3:00 pm, at the café on the top floor of Milton Building,” Jessie replied.

Madelyn knew the café on the top floor of Milton Building well. It was a popular place for meetings, and she had been there a few times with Andrew. The café had big windows that showed a great view of Klago City.

It was a nice spot with coffee tables right by the big windows, letting your see the whole city.

When Madelyn checked the time and saw it was already 1:30 pm, she knew she needed to leave soon.

She took the documents from her desk drawer and said, “I’m heading over now.”

“Okay, go ahead,” Jessie said, nodding.

Jessie smiled at Madelyn but then looked at Emma with a bit of coldness.” Emma, make sure you keep up with your work.”

“Understood, Ms. Carter,” Emma replied, trying to sound polite.

Emma was fuming inside. Why was Madelyn, who was just an intern, getting to meet clients while she was still stuck with draft revisions?

What was wrong with the client? Did they not recognize her skills?

The more Emma thought about it, the angrier she got.

Madelyn saved her files onto a USB drive. Since her meeting with the client. might take a while, she wasn’t sure if she’d get back to the office before. the weekend. She might need to work extra hours.

Jessie, about to leave, turned and said, “Oh, by the way, you’re officially hired now.

Madelyn was surprised. “Really? That’s fast!”

Even though she had worked with Andrew and had everything she needed, getting this job on her own felt exciting. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Jessie nodded. “We usually wait three months, but since you’re leading the design project, we made an exception. Do a good job, and remember, two new designers start Monday. The position of design director is still open. Compete for it.”

“Okay,” Madelyn said.

Noticing Emma’s unhappy look, Madelyn stopped smiling and gave Jessie a simple nod.

After Jessie left, Madelyn ignored Emma and quickly left the office with her bag.

As she closed the door, she heard some banging from inside and sighed. Then, she walked away.

In the car, Madelyn called Andrew.

Andrew was in his office when he saw Madelyn’s name pop up on his phone. He said to Laura, “Sorry, I need to take this call.”

Laura was surprised to see that Andrew’s phone showed “Maddie Baby“,

and she realized that even someone like him had a sweet nickname for his

wife.

He stepped away and answered the call, “Hey, darling.”

Andrew seemed a bit annoyed by what Madelyn was saying. “Which client needs to see you in person?” he asked, sounding a bit jealous.

Laura could tell from Andrew’s voice that Madelyn was being coquettish, which made her feel even more irritated.

Laura thought Madelyn was just a flirt and not worth her attention.

Andrew, on the other hand, was clearly pleased by Madelyn’s charm. ”

After your meeting, come straight to me, and we’ll go home together,” he said.

“Okay,” Madelyn replied.
