30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 86

Jason flung Estrella’s shawl back at her. His voice was laced with frustration. “Estrella, are you that desperate for sex? It’s only been a short while and you’re already running to Korey?”

Estrella strolled over to the dresser in the suite, casually removing her ring and watch. “If I don’t seek him out, should I seek you? Besides, if I came to you, would you even be welcoming?”

With a few nonchalant words, Estrella left Jason speechless.

Turning around to face him, she noticed Jason’s brooding gaze. “See? You wouldn’t let me come to you, so at least let me find some comfort in another man. Otherwise, a girl might age before her time.”

Jason, with his temper flaring again, yanked off his tie and threw it onto the bed. “Fine, if you’re s

so in need of a man, I’ll satisfy you.” After saying that, he strode over, scooped Estrella up, and tossed her onto the bed.

Estrella, thrown onto the bed with such force, propped herself up on her arms and stared at him. “If you don’t mind the blood, then I might as well lie back and enjoy!”

Jason chuckled darkly. “You’re on your period every day now?”

She had used the same excuse last time they went to Silverbrook, claiming it was inconvenient because of her period. It hadn’t been that long, and here she was using it again.

Seeing Jason didn’t believe her, Estrella propped a pillow under herself and lay in a sultry pose. “It’s just the longing for a man.”

She wouldn’t mention Jason’s indiscretions with others. Estrella had her own ways to deal

with him.

Their banter escalated until Jason had her pinned down, and their fingers were interlocked. Estrella struggled instinctively but didn’t manage to push Jason away. It was only when he started kissing her, peeling off her clothes, that she blurted out, “Suddenly, you are not attractive for me anymore. If I were a man, I’d definitely have trouble getting it up.”

This was like dousing Jason’s anger with ice water. He knew Estrella didn’t want him to touch her. Since she had proposed divorce, she wasn’t as sincere in her approach.

anymore.

Estrella’s words were deliberately provocative. After a long, hard look into her eyes and finding no desire, Jason got up, dressed, grabbed his suit jacket, and left the suite without looking back.

Left alone, Estrella exhaled deeply, pushed her hair back, and went to the bathroom. She had lost all patience with Jason, especially after he had stood up for Serene. She had her pride.

At the bar, Jason’s mood was no better as he drank with Grayson.

“You wanna talk about it?” Grayson asked after a few rounds.

Jason took another sip before speaking, “Grayson, what does it mean when a woman doesn’t even want you to touch her, and shows no desire when she sees you?”

Grayson didn’t sugarcoat his response. “She’s not into you. When a woman doesn’t feel it for a man, there’s just no spark.”

Jason felt the sting of truth. Estrella had said that she felt nothing when he kissed her, and that if she had been a man, she wouldn’t have been able to get it up.

He drowned himself in another gulp of liquor.

Grayson tried to lighten the mood. “Maybe it’s just a phase. If she used to be close and suddenly goes cold, it could be she’s just upset.” © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Jason preferred this explanation.

Grayson continued, “You’ve been married over two years. You’ve taken Estrella for granted, and everyone has their limits. You keep pushing her away, so she’ll grow cold. She’s not after your fame or fortune. She doesn’t need to pamper you.’

Jason bristled at this. “You only see the times she comes to me, not when she’s defiant. Just last time I tried to kiss her, I got slapped so hard that my face was marked for days.”

Grayson chuckled. “You must’ve really upset her. Usually, she can’t get enough of you. Take today, for instance. You knew she’d be here, yet you brought Serene along with that necklace you gave her. If you get upset over her merely chatting with Liangzhou, how do

you

think she would feel? Seeing you give such an expensive necklace to another woman and keep her within arm’s reach all day, she must be heartbroken.”

Jason fell silent. He had intended the necklace for Estrella, but after she ignored his pills and threw away his breakfast, he gave it to Serene in a fit of pique.

If Estrella was bothered by Serene, she could’ve just told him. Over their two-year marriage, he disliked her indifference and tolerance, which only changed when his mother pressured her.

Grayson, seeing Jason’s silence, added, “You think Estrella married you because of some fortune- tellers’ words, right? Any other woman would’ve tested the waters with other men before coming to you. But Estrella never did. So, her being with you isn’t just about prophecies.”

Grayson’s pep talk fell on deaf ears as Jason remained unmoved. His thoughts were a jumbled mess. There was so much they didn’t understand.

“Alright, enough with the sulking and the solitary drinking,” Grayson said with a firm yet friendly tone. “If you really want to make things right and keep Estrella by your side, you better charm her pronto. A little sweet talking usually does the trick. Drag your feet, and you’re asking for a bigger mess.”

With those words, Jason took a final swig of his drink, stood up with a newfound resolve, and said, “I’m heading back. You should hit the hay soon too.”

“Sure thing, I’ll hang back a bit longer,” Grayson replied, sensing Jason might be off to make amends with Estrella. He chose not to accompany him, giving his friend some

space.

In the elevator, Jason’s hands were buried in his pockets, and Grayson’s advice echoed in his head, unshakable.

The elevator dinged. The doors slid open. As Jason reached the corridor’s fork, he paused. Initially, he meant to take a left towards his own room, but after a moment’s hesitation, he veered right instead.
