Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1467

Andre spotted the phone on the nightstand. As he bent over to turn off the alarm, Mia looped an arm around his neck, rubbed her eyes with the other hand, and turned her head-she was awake.

Still half-asleep and cozy as a kitten, she yawned, her voice all soft and dreamy. "Babe... is Naomi back yet?"

Andre silenced the alarm, scooped Mia into his arms, and carried her out of the nursery. "She'll be home soon. Be good, go back to sleep."

Mia had only set the alarm to check the time, open the bedroom door, and make sure Naomi and Mrs. Calder could peek in on the kids.

Once they got back to the master bedroom, Andre tucked her in. Mia hugged her pillow, ready to drift off again, when suddenly her eyes flew open and she sat bolt upright.

Andre could see that the realization had hit her.

And right then, Naomi and Mrs. Calder walked in the front door.

Mia and Andre hurried out to greet them.

"Naomi!" Mia called, rushing barefoot down the stairs, practically floating.

Andre winced, worried she might slip—he'd forgotten to bring her slippers from beside the crib, so now she was padding around with bare feet.

He slipped into the nursery, grabbed her slippers, and trailed after her downstairs.

Naomi opened her arms wide for a hug. "I'm back! Watching the kids at home must've been tough, huh?"

"Not at all!" Mia shot back, grinning from ear to ear.

Naomi glanced at her feet. "Where are your slippers?"

Bruce couldn't resist a joke. "The kids were so excited to see you, Mia wore out her happy shoes waiting."

Mia puffed her cheeks. "I just missed you so much, Naomi."

Andre came down, knelt, and set Mia's slippers by her feet. "Now we know why Henry loves going barefoot-he takes after his mom."

Naomi cracked up. Of course, Henry was just like his mama.

Naturally, everyone made a beeline for the nursery to check on the kids.

Mrs. Calder swept her little boy into her arms, smothering Ash with kisses until she managed to wake up the perfect little angel.

Ash rubbed his eyes, looked up at the person showering him with kisses—and promptly started bawling.

He cried for a while, then,

recognizing his mom, sobbed even harder, his little face scrunched up in misery. He was so loud, he woke up the other two as well.

Mrs. Calder cuddled her son, patting his tiny bottom. "Mommy's home, baby. Feeling a little sad, huh?"

Ash, eyes still brimming with tears, looked at his dad, then back at his mom, and let out a tiny "Mm."noveldrama

Mr. Calder teased, "You give me one little glance, but all your cuddles and cries go to your mom. What's that about?"

Ash ignored his dad completely, burrowing right into his mom's arms.

Henry woke up, too, blinking at the crowd of adults before joining in the crying chorus.

The kids just wanted a nap, but now it felt like everyone was watching them, like they were the stars of the zoo.

Naomi, grinning, scooped up her little tiger cub. "Henry, Auntie missed you so much!"

With Henry awake, the final sleepyhead-little Isaac Wayne-opened his eyes. Bruce hurried to snatch up his nephew. Now all three babies were up, crying one after another, turning the nursery into a cheerful, chaotic relay of noise.

Mrs. Calder took her son out.

Bruce scooped up Wayne.

That left Henry, all soft and squishy, back in his dad's arms, settling down again with a sleepy little pout.

Mia got carried back, too. Usually, she and Andre slept with Mia in his arms and Henry snuggled in hers.

But tonight, Henry ended up right in the middle.

Mia burrowed under the covers, but Andre tugged the blanket down, revealing her chubby-cheeked smile. "Henry's such a little stinker-if you hide under there, all you'll smell is his diaper."

Mia lost it and burst out laughing. No matter how hard Andre tried have a quiet word with her, he always found a way to tease their

mischievous little boy.
