Chapter 1910
Chapter 1910
Tina and Malee were still chatting.
Malee said, "I heard that Wilson is back!"
"Yeah." Tina nodded with a faint smile. She looked calm.
Malee took a sip of her tea. "I asked Hayden several times why Wilson broke up with you, but he kept his mouth shut and didn't tell me."
"Hmm," Tina replied softly.
She also asked Hayden. He told her that Wilson had his own reason and that Wilson would tell her in person sooner or later.
She looked down at the tea leaves floating in her cup, lost in thought.
Malee felt sorry for her.
She poured another cup of tea for her and changed the subject. "How's your life after marriage?"
"Don't you know?"
Malee smiled and teased her. "Amin is a nice man. You and Wilson broke up, and now you're married to Amin. Although you two signed an agreement, you can try to treat him as your real husband. Well, I think he'll make a good husband!"
Hearing this, Amin stopped walking toward them.
...
He unconsciously clenched his fists, and his heart beat rapidly.
Through the bamboo curtains, he saw them sitting there.
Tina was sitting with her back to him.
From his angle, he could only see her profile. Her long hair was tied up loosely, and she looked tender. She wore swallow-shaped earrings set with sparkling diamonds.
Her eyes were shimmery.
He held his breath and listened intently to their conversation when his phone vibrated in his pocket.
He had no choice but to walk away to answer the phone.
Tina didn't know what was going on outside at all. She frowned and said firmly, "What are you talking about? I don't like him!"
"Not at all?" Malee asked as she blinked.
"No," Tina replied.
Malee laughed out loud. "I was just kidding. I know you like Wilson and won't fall in love with Amin." Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
She wasn't familiar with Amin. She had only seen him once at his wedding to Tina.
Even though their wedding was very formal, Malee had to admit that he looked very handsome. At the wedding, he was dressed in a white suit and looked like a prince. He was gentlemanly.
Such a man was undoubtedly outstanding.
Tina lowered her head and smiled.
She could not deny it.
After breaking up with Wilson, she couldn't fall in love with another man.
Wilson was like a poppy to her.
Moreover, Amin only loved his dead girlfriend.
She didn't think she was that charming.
...
On the way back to the company, Amin's secretary sitting in the front seat turned around and said, "Mr. Stark, Mr. Stark?"
It wasn't until he gestured in front of him that Amin snapped back to reality. "What's the matter?"
The secretary replied, "You were in a daze. Are you all right?"
...
"I'm all right. I was just thinking about what you said before."
The secretary scratched his head and couldn't remember what he had said.
An hour later, Tina and Malee left the teahouse.
Tina's phone rang after she saw Malee off.
She smiled and answered, "Hello, Desmond?"
Desmond said anxiously, "Come to the hospital right away!"
"What's wrong with you?" she asked with concern.
"It's not me," he said. He paused for a moment before he continued in an exaggerated tone, "It's Wilson. He had a car accident. He was seriously injured. His head was covered in blood. His neck, arms, and legs were all broken. He's out of surgery, but he remains in a critical condition..."
Tina's mind went blank.
She asked in disbelief, "Are you serious?"
Desmond urged her, "Yes. Come to the hospital quickly!"
Before she could speak again, he hung up in a hurry.
Tina's face turned pale. Holding her mobile phone, she rushed to the roadside and stopped a taxi to the hospital.
...
This was the private hospital where Isla had stayed. Its medical level and environment were good, and Wilson's younger brother worked here.
The nurse told her that Wilson had been transferred to the senior ward.
She pushed open the door of the ward.
The ward was very spacious, with a bed and a comfortable sofa.
Wilson wore a blue-and-white hospital gown.
Instead of being wrapped in medical gauze, he sat on the bed, intact, with a notebook on his lap. He was answering emails. When he saw her come in, he closed his notebook and put it aside.
He didn't look like he'd been in a car accident, he looked like he was staying in a hotel.
To make it real, there was even a fruit basket on the table.
Desmond sat cross-legged on the sofa peeling an apple.
Tina's face was livid.
Sensing her cold gaze, Desmond felt guilty, and the apple in his hand dropped to the ground.
She gnashed her teeth and said, "Desmond, you told me Wilson was in a critical condition."
"It's none of my business. I'm innocent!" He explained as he stood up and raised his hands high.
He felt wronged and said with sobs, "Wilson forced me to say so. He threatened to hand over the Chin's Group to me again so he would have time to win you back... I'm too incompetent to take on the responsibility."
He thought Wilson was devious and sly.
He wanted freedom and didn't want to be tied down.
Tina gritted her teeth.
She had been fooled.
When she received Desmond's call, she sensed that something was amiss. Even though she knew it might be a scam, she was still worried about Wilson.
What she did showed her love for him.
She could no longer hide it or pretend to be indifferent.
Wilson stared at her with searing eyes. "Tina, I knew you would come as soon as you heard the news. You came five minutes earlier than I expected."
After hanging up, she rushed over without any delay and urged the driver along the way.
She regained her composure and reminded him. "We broke up!"
He lowered his eyes dejectedly.
He had dark circles under his eyes. He looked sad and helpless. He murmured hoarsely, "I've had a hard time in the past few months."
Tina's heart immediately softened.
She walked to the bed and sat down, looking at him with her clear eyes. "Can you tell me why you broke up with me?"
