Branch Sixty Eight
“Oh yes the honeymoon,” Dawson said calming down a bit.
He was angry that a mere man dares to harass a member of the Delgado family but he could not deny that maybe that strange girl had helped put Xavier and Jessica together.
“What do we do Chairman?” Roselle asked.
“I think I need to send Xavier to Aurora Haven to meet Ethan Ramirez,” Dawson said.
“Who is the?” Roselle asked.
“Ethan Ramirez is one of our greatest investors and he is keen about family. He was the one who pushed my son into an early marriage. He only works with family men and women” Dawson replied a smile climbing his face.
“So if the young master wants to go see him, he has to take the young lady along too?” She asked.
“Yes or else he would not invest in any of Xavier’s future businesses,” Dawson says giving himself a mental back pat for thinking of such an idea.
“I think that’s a fantastic idea, Chairman” Roselle said.
“Let Xavier see me immediately after he gets back,” Dawson tells her. “The earlier we set the plan in motion, the earlier I can rest easy” he added.
“I would like it is you do not make jokes like that” Roselle said rebuking him.
That she rejected him multiple times did not mean she did not have a soft spot for him. She did and she did not want anything he couldn’t deal with some to him. She remembered how many nights she soaked her pillow with tears when she heard how sick he was.
“Yes ma’am” Dawson said with a salute. “Help me to get to bed tonight” he added in a plea.
“Yes sir” Roselle said rolling the wheelchair to the bedside. She supported him to get on to the bed and then tucked him in.
“Tomorrow is the Gates business launch. Are you going to be going there?” Roselle asked.
“I don’t think I am that young to still be going for parties” he answered.
“Okay then I would prepare a feast so you can have your own party here. Jessica and Xavier have been invited and they are going for it”
“That’s good for them. It’s the first time they would be attending a public event together” Dawson tells her to which she nods.
This could be good for them. A good opportunity for them to bond and even better to bond in the eyes of the public.
“Good night chairman,” Roselle said standing up straight before giving a bow.
“I wonder if I would ever hear my real name from your mouth before I die,” he said.
“Chairman, you shouldn’t make statements as such” Roselle said back.
“Call me my name once and I would stop”
“How can that be your kind of request? So strange” she said.
“Just say it” he said with urgency. “You are so stubborn” he added when he saw the adamant look on her face. She did not want to call him by his name and she did not want be forced either.
“Do we need to have this meeting at this time?” Jason was ticked off after being quiet for a long time.
“I thought you called me so we could have the meeting,” Xavier responded.
Jason’s call had pulled him away from spending more time with Jessica but Jason said it was because he wanted to go to a nightclub.
“I called you so you could take me to a nightclub to have a nice time but here you are pulling up numbers and statistics that I don’t want to hear about now” Jason responded in a high voice.
“You know I don’t know any clubs and I don’t go to nightclubs so how could you call me for that?” Xavier asked annoyed.
He hated that the time he spent with Jessica got cut short. The reason he felt angry he did not know but he wanted Jason to feel some kind of pain too.
“You should have called Brian or any of your female friends from your last visit”
“I broke up with them” Jason answered.
“All of them?” Xavier asked shocked.
“Yes all of them” He answered back.
Xavier shook his head in disbelief there was no way Jason had no girl as arm candy.
“Ever since I met Alicia Gates I knew she was the one for me so I ended every relationship that I know meant nothing to me,” Jason said dreamily.
“So why do you want to go to a club?” Xavier asked.
“I never said I was going there for the girls. I was going for a nice time. I could never betray love for Alicia” he responded.
“No night club, back to the briefing,” Xavier said cutting him before he goes on and on about the wonders of a club.
“Arggh” Jason exclaimed.
“You can call Brain maybe he would be willing to take you,” Xavier said.
“No need to call me. I am right here at your service” Brian said pushing the door and coming in with bags of food and drinks.
“What are you doing here?” Jason asked excitedly.
“I know you might both be hungry so I brought late dinner for you” Brian answered with a smile as he dropped the bags on the table.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
“Thank you for being so considerate. Mr. Serious here brought nothing when he was coming and then brought me to this office to start work” Jason said in amusement. “Can you imagine that?” he asked.
“I know what he is like and I am not proud to say I expected him to do so” Brian answered.
Xavier felt his phone chime with a text message. Usually, he would not check his phone during meetings but he somehow wished it was from Jessica so he opened up his phone and saw the message was from Jessica. He felt his expression change to joy and a smile slowly climb up his face.
“I would take you to a…..” Brian began.
“Wait,” Jason said stopping Brian’s sentence.
“Is Xavier smiling?”
“Dawson”
